I realy hope to get my passport next week at the 9.5 weeks mark but no one knows. I also hope that those who have been waiting for more than 9.5 weeks to get thier passports by next week.

Congratulations bunty4ILR and brainford and good luck to everyone.

brainford could you let us know if you sent a prepaid special delivery envelop with you application please? bunty4ILR said there was a prepaid envelop but the passport was not returned in it.

It would be useful to know if the prepaid envelop gets used, we can find out at least on the day it gets posted.

Thanks

brainford wrote:Hi, I received my passport yesterday with my ILR! I sent the application on 23 August, got the acknowledgement letter a few days later, and received the passport on the 27 October with the stamp dated 19 October at Liverpool.

I applied based on 8 years student + 2 years Tier 1, and paid with debit card. I sent 2 passports, photocopies of all pages of my passport with stamps on them, Life in UK Test and 2 photos. I got the passports and LIUK certificate back.

I would advise people not to waste money with sollicitors if you know you have a clean record and tick all the required boxes. There is no need to send any other material like employment letter, bank statements etc. I don't think the caseworkers pay attention to that.

Thank you forum for keeping me updated on the waiting times and special thanks to ah_kassem for maintaining it. All the best to all those who are waiting. Keep the faith.
Congratulations brainford on this great news. best of luck in the future

Yea God knows what happened to £9.10 prepaid Special delivery envelop. I received my passport and docs via RM second class recorded delivery.

Thanks bunty4ILR, it is such a relief to have one's passport back. I keep checking the reference number for my Special Delivery prepaid envelop every day but if documents aren't always returned using the prepaid envelops then there is not much point in checking :?

Oh well, thanks again for sharing the information and best of luck for the future. also, good luck to everyone else still in the pending club

I haven't received my passport yet and its my 10.5 weeks of waiting. But I know there are some others also waiting longer than I, to receive the passport.

I wonder why that is so? I did include more documents than needed like bank statements, payslips and p60s.

Is this the reason for the delay? hmm I don't know.

fajr, i think no one would know for sure the reason behind the delay......... but what I have personally experienced and learnt from others' experience that the more unwanted stuff you send the more time your application takes. I was double minded myself atthe time of making the appliction whether I should be sending non mandatory docs or not....... in the I decided to stick with what set(o) was asking.......
Lets hope you amd other waiting more than 9 weeks receive the passport next week........... But no doubt this is first time ever that 10 years applicants are getting their passports back in 9.5 weeks on average as compare to other catag ILR postal applications....... Sweet UKBA

I have sent extra docs myself, e.g. gp letters, bank statements, employers letters, pay slips. it would be stupid to ask us to provide them, even if they were not mandatory then punish us for providing them by delaying the processing of the application.

I haven't included any additional documents either, I though it will probably delay the processing but still not sure if this is the case.

hopefully some more passports will be returned in the comming days and that should shed some light on whether additional documents delay the process or now

Congratulations abdulmannan, this is fantastic news. It was a fairly slow week, I am glad to see one more passport moving up to the granted club.

Could you please let us know if you sent any additional documents with your application such as bank statements, pay slips, tax returns.. etc? Also, was your passport returned using your prepaid envelop (if you included one with your application)?

Thanks

ILR on the basis of 10yrs residence waiting time

Post by ah_kassem » Sat Oct 29, 2011 8:41 am

Hi All,

this was another good week for recieving passports with ILR stamped on. 6 in total were returned unless if we here further good news today. Did anyone recieve his/her passport last week and did not tell us. we need more info from those who recieved thier passpoert, i.e. how many documents they sent to support thier application we want to know if sending too many docs is delaying the decision making process.

Also is there any silant members who would like to provide us with thier info.

best of luck all

Hi all,

It appears that those who do not send additional documents are getting their passports in less time, well at least that was the case with abdulmannan, brainford and bunty4ILR. From what I can make out, abdulmannan said “all passport life in the UK test, and 2pic and photocopies of passports that is allâ€

Hi abdulmannan,

Thanks for the info, it is also my understanding of the matter that there is not requirement to submit financial documents. We are trying to analyse the processing pattern to see whether submitting such documents only delays the process or if this is not related.

Thank you for your wishes and I pray that we have as many passports returned this week as possible.

All the best for the future mate
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it...

ah_kassem wrote:I have sent extra docs myself, e.g. gp letters, bank statements, employers letters, pay slips. it would be stupid to ask us to provide them, even if they were not mandatory then punish us for providing them by delaying the processing of the application.
Lets hope we will not be pushed for sending not required docs.
