spouse name inclusion in passport ?

Hi,

my baby is born in india and my wife and baby are in india now. in order to get her passport i was asked to send an affadavit attested by the indian high commission in london. i have done this..someone told me that my wifes name should be added as spouse on my passport ? is this true ? (my name is added on her passport on the observation page) - we have marriage certificate also

any thoughts ?

As has already been said, its not required. All you need is Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate.
