Where do I find info on marrying a non uk resident?

I feel like I've gone round in circles for about 2 hours.
What crap web sites,

There are two parts to this:

1. The marriage - contact your local registrar or relevant religious person if applicable on the necessary requirements. The Home Office will have to authorise your spouse to get married by way of a Certificate of Approval.

2. Your spouse changes visa from student to spouse of a settled person. Certain rules will need to be met particularly those documenting to the Home Office that you have enough resources to accomodate and maintain without recourse to public funds.

Have a read of the link below and likewise threads on the family forum for others in a similar position then come back with specific questions that may not have been answered. Some legwork on the part of a poster is often appreciated by contributors to this site.
