I hope we are helping others by putting them off for applying this by post. Not many new members are adding on the list which serves the part of the purpose in creating this list. Only if I had read this thread before applying......

It is interesting to read other posts where they have been frustrated for waiting 2 hours or 7 days after premium service. I guess you reach a point after which anxiety no longer holds on to you. To be honest, the wait no longer bothers me now.

I think 20-22+ weeks now is normal which used to be 8-14 weeks 6 months ago. I hope they don't change the goal post and say 95% cleared by 12 months!

Am I seeing Set O and Set O JR approvals alternating week on week? Just a curious observation.

Any news from Gaku? I was under the impression that Set M doesn't take so long to be processed.

Right, my query is for those who recently got their passports back from HO with ILR stamp particularly SET O JR category. Looking back at earlier posts on this thread, I've seen where some of the people said they got a letter from HO along with their passports confirming that their ILR is valid from the date they actually completed 4 or 5 years in the country as opposed to the actual ILR stamp date on their passports which will allow those who want to apply for naturalisation submit their application earlier. Did any of you get such letter from HO along with your documents pls?

Considering the fact that the HO is now taking a minimum of 4 or 5 months to decide our applications, do we have to wait for another 12 months from the ILR stamp date or 12 months from the actual date we were due ILR but couldn't get it due to HO delays or inefficiency??? I'm already 4 months past my ILR due date as having arrived the country in Sep 2006 & applied for ILR in Sep 2011 but still waiting for it uptill now. Can I therefore apply for citizenship in Sep 2012 or do I have to wait for another 12 months from the date the ILR will be stamped on my passport?

Any ideas are all welcome pls

Thanks doubletrouble but methinks that that's so unfair on us who applied by post - having to wait for God knows how long for no fault of mine except for refusing to give UKBA additional £1,134 (myself + 4 dependants) for a PEO application. Anyway the waiting game continues - 17 weeks & 1 day now and still counting

Couldn't agree more. Apart from just this painful waiting one can easily claim child benefit and make up for that extra charge for premium service in 6 months. I sincerely hope we get our passport before rules change and price hike.

Success

Post by SETO25Oct2011 » Sun Jan 22, 2012 6:57 am

Hi everyone,

ILR approved and currently overseas at my wedding. Thanks everyone for your support. Here's my details:

Application sent - 20 oct 2011
Confirmation letter dated - 25 oct 2011
ILR approval - 12 Jan 2012
Received post -14 Jan 2012 Liverpool Stamp

Expedited request - 19 Dec 2011 - registered post Croydon office
Request for MP assistance - 3 Jan 2012 - who wrote letter and contacted uk boarder hotline for some progress update though this was difficult even for them to get information
Expedited request - 9 Jan 2012 fax and registered post to both Croydon and Liverpool office

Reason for expedited request -travelling to my wedding on 14 Jan 2012.

I got my passport 6 hours after my original flight left on 14th Jan but managed to fly out 3 days later and in time for my actual wedding.

Thanks again everyone. Especially for moral support and seto12aug for posting info which was very helpful.

Cheers....

Hello everyone , im a in difficult situation at the moment , i applied for ILR set (m) since the 4th of august and im still waiting i havent heard anything , my soliciyot is useless he can hardly reply to my emails, i sent and email to the mp and the first time i got a responce to say that my application is an active consideration that was just in october or november , then about 2 weeks i sent another email to the email and he didnt take them 15 mins to reply to say answer apart for some words been changed , we all know to get hold of HO you need at least 10 to 15 mins to get hold of someone if you are lucky .they were taking for a fool thats for sur , for me to be able to call them i have to wait until the begining of February but its taking toooo long i know my application wasnt straight forward but it was just some small stuff that has nothing to do with my application , i dont have any criminal records , i been paying my tax everything was official , i know someone who applied for ILR ages ago , he is been cautioned for beating his wife and guess what he got his ILR within 5 weeks why nothing with the HO make since ?

Wish I could help you but we are on the same boat- Boat Trapped

As people have been successful with expedite letter with a genuine cause, only thing I can think of is if you can risk spending more money- book flight ticket and show why you need your passport back quickly. But you are paying a price here. Just a suggestion.

 That's just how I feel atm!

Can't even hand in my notice, cos prospective employer needs to see original passport to guarantee my job offer.

My notice period is 3 months!

I feel like I am doing jail time, with no end date.

What scares me is that the person in the above post said they were working on his case but when his MP checked into it, nothing else has been done and that they needed to trace the application. Is it likely that the HO would lose an application?

As for me, I've heard nothing and I applied in Sept. Surely if mine was needing further investigation, the HO caseworker would have contacted my place of employment to check on salary, etc, or have written to me to provide further details. My HR department at my job said no one has contacted them.

Now, would it be dangerous of me to look into other jobs at the moment. What if the HO calls my place of employment and my boss tells them I'm still employed but I'm looking to move on. That would be dangerous wouldn't it?
Andy
