hi speed120,
I see this on the forum but don't know if it works. You can give it a try.

Have you tried sending them a letter through post office?

Good news

Post by I-L-R-2011 » Tue Jan 24, 2012 2:25 pm

Hi All,

Good news from my side.....I got my passports with ILR today, timelines as follows:

Applied on 31/08/2011
Pament taken on 06/09/2011
Acknowledgement received 14/09/2011 dated 06/09/2011
ILR stamped: 19/01/2012 from liverpool
docs and passports received: 24/01/2012

Thanks to one and all for giving information and moral support, this site has been veryhelpfull for me...

I would strongly suggest...please do not apply through postal....its un-bearable tourchour.

Thanks once again

Expedite letter

Post by Cagedhorse » Tue Jan 24, 2012 2:42 pm

Just wondering what did people write in their expedite letters? I have a job offer and the table but cannot resign as my ILR has not come thru and i don't know how it has progressed or if it is being processed, except that they have acknowledged receipt and taken the fee from my bank account. I'd like to write an expedite letter but my prospective employer's lawyers (Fragomens) have advised that writing an expedite letter could be harmful. But if i don't, then I can't resign until I have my passport (assuming it is successful) then I need to give three month's notice. this means I won't be able to start my new job until July/August if HO takes the full 6 months! I got the offer in November 2011! I'd like to know, what should I include in this letter? should it be written from me? who should it be addressed to?

Any thoughts?

If they need ID- then you could provide driving licence, work ID card or anything that has your photo and name on it. But driving licence would be next preferred option to passport.

ILR Received

Post by bazzy_1 » Wed Jan 25, 2012 12:05 pm

Hi All,

I have followed this thread for some time. Thought I would share my experience.
I applied for my wife's ILR on a set(m) application

Applied: 3rd November 2011
Payment taken: 10 November 2011
ILR stamp: 19th January 2012 (Liverpool office)
Paperwork received: 25th January
12 weeks total

Didn't chase them as i wasn't really worried, thought it was a straight through case, but I did a lot of prep.

Please feel free to ask any questions
Regards,

Baz

Welcome on board thiru123.

Just to share with you all some updates on my application and to seek your views.

I requested for my car reg logbook which l sent to HO as part of my doc. Needed that paper because the police have asked for it.
Initial request was made on the 13/12/2011 and have been chasing them for it since.
Two weeks ago l contacted the via phone and asked if they could expedite the process and send my car doc to me as the police is charging me for keeping my car.this morning, l phoned HO to find out why it has taken more than 21 days for them to return my document. The guy l spoke to was very nice and polite and informed me that is gone in the post today;he even gave me the tracking number.

My question is, could it be that they have completed the processes and have sent my passport along the requested doc? Fingures crossed

He wouldn't give any info on the main application. Could it be that is been dealt with; looking at the time it took for them to respond

You applied on 24th October 2011 and you requested for the return of your documents on 13 December 2011. That means your application was with the HO for less than two months. Looking at the current response time for successful applications (4 - 5 months), it will be a divine miracle if your application has been processed in less than two months.

I hope your current visa will not have expired by the time you receive your documents back from HO.
