Got just one year HSMP

Post by jane » Sun Nov 12, 2006 11:21 am

Hey guys,
I got an HSMP, but it is valid for only one year. Honestly, I always thought that the initial visa is indeed for one year. But, after reading a few posts on this forum, I realised people get it for two years. Mine expires in july 2007.
Now, the question is... Can I something do about it ?? What if I reach UK and find a job somehwere around first quarter of 2007 ?? will the few months of employment enough to apply and get an extension ????

Please advise.

if u get 2 years , ur earning should be very higher than 1 year HSMP..read through the guidance note of new rule extension.

but 1 year is not enough time to find a good job . It means they don't want any new skilled migrants in U.K.Their aim is favour to change the w.p holders to HSMP.

jane: I think earnings can be clubbed with those earned outside UK for consideration .

Btw is the HSMP 1 year validity date of July given to you based on the HSMP approval in July ,or does it match the application for EC in month of July ?

guys given HSMP outside UK call WPUK and tell them

Post by indianpirate » Sun Nov 12, 2006 3:17 pm

Hi Guys,
I am given entry clearance into the UK in December-2005 and it took me 2 months 28 days to relocate and 2.5 months to find a skilled job. I spoke to WPUK call centre that I was unable to relocate immediately, and hence it is impractical to expect 8 months earnings and she said we will consider such issues.
I suggest and request everybody like me call them and explain them. ask them to record this problem so that at least we can be given some consideration. I hope. u never know. but we have to try.
cheers guys

Hi,
I had got my HSMP visa in july 2006 which is valid till july 2007. So, basically i have just one year to get a job and out of that one year couple of months have already passed. Therefore, the question was, what if I get a job in next couple of months. Then , by july 2007 I would have worked for around 4-5 months. Will that be enough for an extension. I am 32 years old and reside in germany.
Cheers

there is no diffrence between the one year and two years earnings
Previous Earning from Your work
If your previous grant to leave to enter/remain under HSMP was for a period of more than 12 months period

£40000+ 45 points
£35000-£39999 40 Points
£32000-£34999 35 Points
£29000-£31999 30 Ponts
£26000-£28999 25 Points
£23000-£25999 20 Points
£20000-£22999 15 Points
£18000-£19999 10 Points
£16000-£17999 5 Points

If your previous grant to leave to enter/remain under HSMP was for a period of 12 months or less

£26500+ 45 Points
£23300-£26499 40 Points
£21300-£23299 35 Points
£19300-£21299 30Points
£17300-£19299 25 Points
£15300-£17299 20 Points
£13300-£15299 15Points
£12000-£13299 10Points
£10650-£11999 5 Points

if they give you for some amount of time to take IELTS , you will be in over 12 months.

So simple answer is NO to new rule.

sorry, what's the differences between these two?

Post by niubi5 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 9:27 pm

my friend has had HSMP visa for nearly 4 years, he is going to extend it next month, but he's just found his first high-paid job last month, should i say he is doomed to fail next month?
and my caseis, if I pass HSMP for the first time next month, and then how much should I earn in order to extend my visa? my friend and I are both MA of UK universities. thanks.
