Schengen Travel Insurance

Post by I143351 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 8:35 pm

Hi,

Have my schengen VISA appointment on Monday, 2nd April.

Trying to buy an online Single Trip insurance from AXA Travel Insurance (Northern Ireland) and though the insurance cover looks promising, the FAQ section says that the cover will start as sooon as the payment is approved. This would mean that I pay premium for two extra months (April and May) whereas my travel is scheduled for June.

Is this the norm or can anybody suggest an insurance that starts on the first day of the trip and covers only the duration of the trip?

Thanks.

Regards,

It sounds like you might be buying an annual policy. If one provider does not suit, you could look elsewhere. It is possible to buy insurance from say 28th April to 1st May.

Thanks for replying, EUsmileWEallsmile.

I'm trying to buy a single trip policy. In fact, for the annual cover they do have the option of starting the policy from the travel start date. Didnt see that option for Single Trip.

Can you suggest any genuine insurance providers please?

Thanks.

Why don't you try "google" travel insurance and you'll get a good selection.
