Hi All, I finally received my passport today with ILR stamp dated 13th March. Unfortunately my wife and kid's passports are not there in the post. We all applied together and it's odd to receive only mine. Did this happen to anyone else before?

Congratulations!Moraa,

Finally we get some good news for JR Group, hopefully you wife and child will receive their passports next Tuesday, otherwise you have to check with ukba。

I have not received my passport yet。 It is said I would get mine in 10 days, 13 days passed, no news。It seems that the case worker was too positive about the delivery time, I am afraid that they have not posted my passport yet。

Hopefully next week is the good week for all of us in the wait list。

Thanks Susan1228, Hope more good news will follow for others in the top of the JR list. Like I said earlier I sent an expedite letter, contacted MP twice. Not sure if any of those things helped. Good luck to all.

I am so glad I remembered this website!!

My timings are:

Posted on 11-Nov-2011
Ack. Letter Date: 15-Nov-2011
Fee Withdrawn: 16-Nov-2011
Letter received: 19-Nov-2011

I have been waiting for nearly 5 months. I wasn't worried before but now I need my passport to process loans and it's getting critical!!

When I applied, I thought the waiting times webpage said 14 weeks... I am not sure if it has changed or if it's a false memory.

Regards,

I still haven't received my Acknowledgement After 4 months. I submitted my application on 22nd of Nov,2011 by Special delivery. They have received my document according to royal mail tracking. I don't know why I still haven't received my Acknowledgement letter. Is there an successful case, which didn't received the letter and get the Visa finally? I am a bit worry about my application. According to my company said they took the money already. My fee was paid by my company. Do you think it is a problem?

Post by talal22 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 2:45 pm

Hi everybody
Ihave been silent follower to this websit for over six month.
Today by the grace of god (alhamdulilah) I got my ILR after 25 weeks of painful waiting time ,here is my timeline:

Applied under SET(o)
Applied: 14/10/2011
Recieved by Home office: 17/10/2011
Confirmation letter dated: 18/10/2011
ILR stamped: 13/03/2012
Received: 07/04/2012

I'd like to thank this board, and wishing all of you who are still waiting all the best

Finally a good news.

Post by AshMad » Sat Apr 07, 2012 3:30 pm

Hi All

I was waiting patiently for six months.
Finally I got my ILR.
My case was not straightforward but I had a hope of getting ILR (Exceeding all the absence criteria).

I got impatient after 3.5 months of painful wait. I wrote to MP who was just supporting UKBA stating I need to wait patiently.

Her response was not satisfactory and I wrote to Damien Green. He never responded.

I then contacted UKBA directly and got a detailed information on what are my rights in case I run out of visa. That was exactly a month back. I decided to wait and I got my ILR. It was a pleasant surprise completely out of expectations.

I ran out of my visa in Mid March and was again hoping that I would take it to next level in case of any rejection. At the back of my mind, I was thinking that I had a realistic chance of 70% but was unsure. I did seek legal advise on the matter just to be ready to face anything coming my way.

Timeline:

Applied under SET(O)
Applied: 13/10/2011
Recieved by Home office: 14/10/2011
Confirmation letter dated: 17/10/2011
ILR stamped: 2/04/2012
Received: 07/04/2012

Note I did not send the self addressed envelope with application but after 4 months of applying, I wrote them that my Solicitor is no longer representing me and all correspondences with regards to my case should be directly addressed to me for which I was attaching a self addressed envelope. I also sent them few more documents the copies of which were sent initially as I thought I had lost them. I am happy that all the documents sent after application are also in my Pack.

I would sincerely wish that all of you who are still waiting get their ILR as soon as possible.

All the Best to those waiting. My best wishes are with all of you.

In case anyone needs any thing, I would be more than happy to assist.

Thanks & Regards
Ash

Hi, Talal22,

Thanks for the extra information! My case is a straightforward case, I am not really worrying too much about whether I get the ILR or not (of course, I worried in case I cannot get ilr), it's better for me to get the ilr before 06/04/2012 so I can make some decision for finance-wise.
Have a nice day! Enjoy your freedom!

I am so glad I remembered this website!!

My timings are:

Posted on 11-Nov-2011
Ack. Letter Date: 15-Nov-2011
Fee Withdrawn: 16-Nov-2011
Letter received: 19-Nov-2011

I have been waiting for nearly 5 months. I wasn't worried before but now I need my passport to process loans and it's getting critical!!

When I applied, I thought the waiting times webpage said 14 weeks... I am not sure if it has changed or if it's a false memory.

ILR SET (O) on basis of general tier 1 postal application- h

Post by suji » Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:54 pm

Hello, reading about all these waiting times for postal applications and now really scared. I am due to apply for ILR on 30/04/12. currently on tier 1 geberal migrant but was on maternity for 10 months and now part time working. Was advised to apply by post by others.
Looking at current waiting time how do I know whether I have been granted ILR or not ? what happens if my current visa expires while they are still processing my application?
I am really worried. Can someone please help?

suji, as long as your application is being processed and you have received a confirmation letter from the HO, you are still legally allowed to work. I decided to save myself the extra £600 for a fast track application and went with the postal one because the agents I used said it should take 4 to 8 weeks. It's now been 25 weeks! If you have the spare cash, I would suggest paying more and going with the fast track option if you need your passport within 6 months. If you are in no hurry for it and do not plan to travel and are prepared to wait 6 months or more, then the postal application can be an option.

I hope mine comes in soon but will have to wait until after the Easter holidays to find out. I've also asked my local MP to follow it up and they have called the HO twice with the last time about 4 weeks ago. It doesn't seem like any amount of phone calls by anyone can influence the HO. At the end of the day, it's either pay more or simply wait your turn.

postal application time

Post by suji » Sun Apr 08, 2012 11:18 pm

Thanks but still I am not clear on the followings.
we can't apply for ILR more than 28 days before our 5 yrs period, right ? will they inform yes sooner than six months if they are refusing our application so that we can think about other alternatives? I hope I made it clear what I want to know?

Thanks RQI, that is useful. Didn't see your message before. My tier 1 is complicated by maternity period do you guys think I can go for PEO rather than postal?

If you go to a PEO, then I think you still have to pay the same amount as the premium service which is more than the postal service. However it probably helps if you manage to speak to someone face to face. Once you apply using the postal service like I have, no one will answer any telephonic queries until it's been 6 months from the date of the confirmation letter. In fact, the enquiry number the HO gives on the acknowledgement letter is an automated ansering service which ends the call automatically.

Thanks for the info. Let's hope we are not the 4.77% that end up having to wait more than 6 months.

Delay in recieving Acknowledgement Letter

Post by bapuram » Mon Apr 09, 2012 11:18 am

Dear All,

We are a family of 4, we have applied for ILR on 11/11/2011, both my sons have received their acknowledgement letters unlike myself and my wife. I was wondering if anyone had the same case, if yes what to do about it? We have tried calling them and sending fax to the HO yet no response.

Thank you.
