a small correction. Checked with my husband and apparently the visa was stamped on 12/03 rather than 19/03, as I thought.
The pre-paid special delivery enveloped I enclosed with my application was used. Even so, the postage took one month and one day! Brrrrilliant service!

Thanks for this piece of info VN. I was wondering whether they were using the enclosed envelopes. Good to know they are.

Thanks all for the well wishes and congrats to everyone who's also got theirs in the last week. It's such a relief when it comes through. I had my first HSMP application rejected for a very dubious reason and after appealing they agreed they'd made a mistake. So even though everything was straightforward with this one I was still concerned.

I am happy to say we received our passports with ilr stamped today by second class to be signed for post.my time line is

Pattern continues ,about our weeks from point of tamping to posting it.
Alo in my case have not used the spl delivery envelope which has been returned to me.
I would think we need to Strike when it's hot and raise the issue of inefficiency and incompetence of ukba.any petition /collective complaint would be duly supported.

You're right..I think we should complain about the incompetency before we forget our pain. Would an e-petition be a good way?

On completion of six months, I called UKBA this morning to make inquiry on the progress of my application. The reply 'The application is in progress and decision is yet to be made'.

Did others on the forum received similar response on their inquiry after six months?

I was told that my application is being processed by Liverpool office

This just confirms that no matter who calls and how many calls you make at any time, even if it's after 6 months, it will not influence the speed of your application. Just have to stick to Border Agency Mean Time (BAMT)

I was told that my application is being processed by Liverpool office

I can't believe that after 6months of waiting that is the status update you are given. That is just ridiculous!! They should tell you how much longer you will need to wait for a decision.

It was frustrating to listen. More so when I was told - 'We can provide you the update as mentioned in our system'. A typical call centre response rather than helpline response.

Hello lakshtar,

I finished six months on 10th April 2012.
I am calling UKBA everyday, same response everyday " application is in progress and decision is yet to be made and NO target date can be given.

I Have written two letters to UKBA asking for status, mailied on the settlement policy eamil twice, emailed my MP once till now, hoping to get some answer,

I am inclined to write about this ridiculous waiting time to Dominic Littlewood on BBC or BBC watchdog. We are supposed to be the customers of HO and the service is pathetic. any ideas? media is the most effective medium to get anything done faster in this country. don't even like to talk about court cases.
