Become British before parent, possible?

Post by expresso » Thu May 03, 2012 8:43 pm

I am asking on the behalf of my friend

Is it possible for a child of an EEA National to become British before their parent?

More info:
Child is under 18 and they didn't born in the UK.
Parent doesn't have a PR status but the child got it.
None of the parent are British.

Thanks to help my friend.

The short answer is yes. For a longer answer (e.g. when the application can be made by/on behalf of the child), I guess we'd need more information about dates, etc.

Hi Christophe
Thanks for your answer.

Does any other family member of the child can sponsor an AN APPLICATION on their behalf ex. adult brother/sister wtih PR status or apply British citizenship together?

I thought that the answer would normally be no, except under exceptional circumstances (9.17.11).
