I sent a letter to my MP last month but I don't think this was any help. I wrote to watchdog and if I get called back asking about my experience I have your backs
Good luck everyone

Hi Speed120 / Sara 2012,

I understand the pain you are going through.

However I totally disapprove of the following,
1. You quoted you know of someone who got ILR after beating wife
2. How did he get his ILR ?

First of all, the person whom you are referring to either is known to you else you would not know what has he done and why has he got ILR.
Morally you should not posted his story on this public forum and questioning peps that u know of something about.....The guy would have mentioned things to you and you should have kept those things confidential. If this is just an information you have heard from someone about someone then this story does not make any sense.

By saying that he beat his wife he got ILR so why I am not geting my ILR quickly. There is no link between you geting your ILR and why he got his ILR.

Finally you have just posted about husband beating wife and not posted the true story of both sides and in the forum we have some people commenting about what he/she would go about revoking one's ILR when UKBA has granted that person ILR and he has declared his caution to UKBA. Do these people understand what they are typing and if its making sense ?

I thought in this thread one would post about timelines to track your application by comparing time scales for others who applied at the same time. Also any new information of how to track application with UKBA and problems/ questions encountered by us in dealing with UKBA which would help others was the intention behind this thread,I belive.

Instead people are posting about a vague story not related to them anyway and on top some people have said they would seek revocation of somebody's ILR. Bit disgusting and shameful............

Passports are finally here. Set(O) JR

Application received by HO : 19-Oct-2011
Acknowledgement from HO dated: 20-Oct-2011
ILR stamp date : 02-Apr-2011
Passports received : 03-May-2011 (wasn't able to collect the passports from the Post Office till today hence the delay in posting this)
Total time taken - 6 months and 2 weeks ( 28 weeks)
Enclosed special delivery envelope was used.

After all these months of waiting, sending expedite email, faxes, letters, calling the Home Office and cancelling plane tickets home twice, I find myself distinctly underwhelmed on receiving our passports. Ours was a straightforward case and I never expected to have to wait so long. My question : is there any way we can apply for citizenship in Oct 2012 which would ideally have been 1 year after we received our ILR (i.e Oct 2011 was when our 5 year HSMP+Tier 1 expired) or do we have to pay the price of an extra 6 months for UKBA's incompetency?

Thanks for this link 2ndClassC..this explains so much. On the news the other day it was also mentioned that UKBA back office staff were being bussed into the airports to help ease queues there. It's as bad as we suspected.

With all respect , i didnt say any informations about his identity , and its not random story , i could tell u more what happened after he was granted ILR but not point , im trying to make a point about UKBA , im just trying to settle down properly and plan what me and my wife we gonna do for holidays and stuff , but like always UKBA has the time for it , im done with this stuff , if really think that the marriage is not genuin after 5 years well there no place for me here , Well i wont give up easy but when i see that there is no point , i let go . but hope for the best .

My question : is there any way we can apply for citizenship in Oct 2012 which would ideally have been 1 year after we received our ILR (i.e Oct 2011 was when our 5 year HSMP+Tier 1 expired) or do we have to pay the price of an
extra 6 months for UKBA's incompetency?
Hi, Oct2011,

Congratulations! I am so pleased for you. SO now you can have your holiday
at last. Enjoy...

For citizenship I think you have to wait until next Apr。At least 12 months after got ilr。

Kind Regards

i don't know, i wont go for citizenship when i get ilr. maybe i will change my mind later. citizenship wont give me anything more than i will get with ilr. also if i do get British citizenship, i will lose my home country citizenship.

so monday will be 6 months and 2 weeks for me, tuesday a week since i called and no decision would have been made. i sent a few extra documents to liverpool on this week hopefully it will force them too look at my ilr and send my passport back. had to cancel my ticket home last week ukba really stressing me out! find it unacceptable that we enclose the returning envelope and it sits around for ages, i called royal mail last week who assured me that post does not sit in dispatch centres. companies also have dipatch orders and they dont sit around for days maybe 1 or two but no longer than a week and you usually recieve goods you got online? well this is my personal feelings.. i hope it comes this week i feel so misrable without it, it was a slightly complicated case but i had documents proving eveything, hopefully this is the week!!!

also i am aware that moaning about it isn't going to do anything but its still good to vent my frustration.. goooood luck everyone for this weeek ..

Thanks Susan1228 :)It's nice of you to still check in on us after having received your passport. Regarding the wait for citizenship, I was afraid that would be the case ..it feels really unfair.
Bump, what I really want from citizenship is the ability to travel to most countries in the world without having to get a visa first. I have had to go through this process (minus the extremely long waiting time) every time I want to travel anywhere other than my home country, and it really does dent your desire to travel. Also my country India does allow dual citizenship so I'm not really losing anything.

Hello,
My time line is same as yours. Set(m) applied through settlement checking service on 16 feb 2012. I think the paper work which your friend had send to the HO , they will consider them then, only if your address changes you should notify HO not when you resign or abandon ... ??? I am not sure but guessing. Acknowledgment letter does not say to inform them if your job circumstances changes. I guess it may be a different case if HSMP candidates losse their job while their application is in HO .

Good luck :D

Thanks anotherOct2011. I haven't checked the citizenship process and waiting times yet but if what you say is true that would be wonderful. Obviously all that could change in a year's time. Look at how waiting times for ILR went from a few weeks to months in a very short space of time.

Hi speedo120, when did you apply, according to the list you applied in Aug, that is more than 40 weeks, is this correct?

If it is, they have made you wait too long.

ILR Received

Post by Cagedhorse » Tue May 08, 2012 10:47 am

I've received my ILR finally.

Stamped 4 Apr 2012, received by post 2 May 2012.

Note that I called on 18 Apr 2012 and was told it was still being processed, so not sure if there was a timing issue with their internal programs being updated with the actual status or not.

All to best to everyone else! Will take a break from this malachy before looking into the next step.

:P

Finally!

Post by waitingandwaiting » Tue May 08, 2012 3:41 pm

I got my ILR (Set (o) JR) and passport in the mail today, after 22 weeks of waiting. I sent it off on Dec. 2.

I sent off about five expedite requests, several emails and spoke with my MP as well.

This message board has been great and helpful judging waiting times.

Good luck all!
