Evidence. Are copies submissable?

In particular are copies (photocopies/scans) of birth certificates and passports submissable as evidence?

Would they be submissable if I got our doctor to sign them to say they where accurate copies?

no. copies are not admissable. if copies are the only thing you have, then you must get them notorized.

It will be difficult to get a copy of something notorized if you do not have the original for the notary public to compare it to.

For a visa application outside of the UK, a UK solicitor can certify that copies match the original (as long as take them a copy and the original !). Make sure they sign, date and apply their company stamp to each sheet copied and also state it's a true copy of the original.

But you obviously have to be in the UK before returning to your home country.

Considering how much solicitors charge for other services I found this service to be suprisingly cheap !
