Visitor Visa for Parents

Post by anasjamil2 » Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:54 pm

Hi Experts,

I have Tier1 till March2013, living with my wife (dependent). My mom & dad want to visit me. Please can I know what documents do they have to submit and what maintenance funds to I have to show for them ?

Can the maintenance funds be shown in my bank account or they have to be in my parent's account?

Thanks,
Anas

You should find yourself the answers in guidance notes regarding the docs required. One thing I can confirm is that you can show the funds in ur UK bank account, I have done that.

Invitation/Sponsor letter
Copy of passport & visa/BRP
Tenancy agreement (not mandatory)
your Bank Statement showing funds
Itenary (travel plan & dates)

these are the ones I can think of...

I would also add some property document on your parents name so as to prove that they will return back to your place after the visa expires.

The most important thing (much more than your funds) is to give ample evidence that they will return once the visa ends.

Documents proving ownership of property and other assets, if you have any othjer siblinmgs, their details which shows that your parenst have a strong reason to return home.

There is no said amount as maintenance funds. Show roughly 500 per person per month. (If both parents visitng for 2 months show 2000 pounds in bank. This can be your money in UK or can be your parents savings in their home country bank).
