Further info re: Child Tax Credit application

Post by abed9631 » Mon May 07, 2012 2:00 pm

When I applied for child tax credit (CTC) about two months ago I enclosed copies of my and my wife's passport as a proof of our current immigration status i.e. ILR. However I've now received a letter from HMRC stating that they require further information to process the application and need to see our original passports. Has anybody experienced similar situation? Is this a normal requirement for cases like ours? If yes, could anybody kindly give me an indication how long it might take to get the final decision from HMRC. Thanks in advance.
