Still waiting for COA. Here's my history
Application sent: 26/04
Received by HO: 27/04
1st chase letter sent: 2nd week of may
2nd chase letter sent: 4th week of May
Called HO: 11/06
They asked for my details and tracking number and said the COA has been requested and will arrive within next 10 working days. Fingers crossed!!

Question: Does anyone know if I can get a new job with COA and just a copy of my passport?

Hi guys, please I need your help,,,,,,,
Im flying to Tunisia on 27/06/2012 with my EEA wife, I have received my passport back but after making 4 times request for my wife(EEA national) passport back, still haven't received it and every time I ring they make a new request!!!
Today the lady told me this is urgent and she will email the managers even.
She also told make if I wish to complain, she gave me the email address.
I don't know what to do, please what are your suggestions? I need help.
Thank you in advance.
Applied for EEA4 on 24/02/2012.
HO received on 27/02/2012.
Refusal received on 16/08/2012 dated 11/08/2012
At the court, the HO REP withdrawn the decision and asked me to send the DOC for the time before marriage.

13/02/2012: Application submitted
14/02/2012: Application received by HO
07/03/2012: Passport requested for urgent business trip
12/03/2012: Passport received together COA in same envelope
02/04/2012: E-mailed for an update (no response)
10/04/2012: Called for an update and explained that I have to travel frequently for work and that my RC expires 11 May and that i would struggle to even board a plane to return to the UK as I am a visa national. Was simply told that its my choice to travel and that I have to wait 6 months.
10/04/2012: E-mailed for an update and explaining situation (no response)
10/04/2012: sent enquiry to SOLVIT explaining urgency of situation
15/04/2012: Response received from SOLVIT, stating that through treaty rights I am allowed to travel and that if I have any issues with boarding a plane or entering the UK that I need to show my CoA with us much supporting info as possible and they also provided a number that I could ring if I have any difficulty with either of the latter.
01/05/2012: called BA in the hope to get an update but as I have not passed the 6 months mark, they wont even consider taking my details to look into it.

Between 01/05/2012 and last week I sent about two e-mails and made a complaint using their official complaints e-mail.

Today I received my PR on separate paper with all my supporting docs, it was sent using the special delivery envelope that I enclosed. Th PR was issued on the 6th of June but I only got it yesterday.

So 4 months in total for me.

it's a stock letter, don't worry...and at least you're lucky enough to get the COA :D many here get the COA with the RC after 6 months or don't get coa at all

Yes, but in case I ask my passport back for travel purposes and as I am visa-national, I might need to make Family permit in order to come back, and I think would be more advantageous to have a paper that I have applied for Permanent residency card.

nothing advantageous there, with the same success, the border officials can tell you that having applied doesn't mean you will get it, so any letter is ok. You can tell them if there are any questions that it's the UKBA stock letter and whether you apply for a resid card or perm resid card, same COA.

Please can someone advise me on where I can write to get COA asap.
Date applied:26/04
Received by HO: 27/04
27/04 - 18/06 - Send two letters (tracked) and called 3 times.

I spoke to them on Monday 11/06 and the person said they have requested for COA to be sent and I will receive within 10 working days. I called again on Friday 15/06 and they said I need to wait another 5 working days.
I called today and now they are saying, no letter has been sent as they have not checked my application yet. They cannot give any ETA on when the letter will be sent.

My new employer has said that I can commence working as soon as I have the letter (coa).

Any advice will be much appriciated.

Called HO everyday since last Friday for an update on COA. The initially told me the request has been made and it will take 10 working days to receive COA.
However now they are saying it may take longer and they can't tell when I will receive my COA. I just have to call them back after 10 working days (which is next Monday).
Let's see...

Hi all, got my pr on the basis of RoR. Application made on december. Coa received after 5 months and after few phone calls. Total Time taken for pr is 6 months+. Number of calls made to ukba - 5. Number of e mail send - 2,
However happy that I won't have to apply in Liverpool anymore in future. ( during rc it was 1 year wait as well ). This wait is stressful and cos its free applications i think. Good luck to all who's waiting. Cheers.

This is now getting really frustrating. As well as the new employer, my current employer has now asked for proof of my application !

Still no CoA after 2 months. I called again to tell them that 10 working days have gone past since requesting for CoA. They simply said I will have to wait and no ETA.

I have send email complaints to several email addresses and also sent letters to Croydon HO, Liverpool and North West region office in Manchester.

Just don’t understand why it is taking so long to send a confirmation letter.

There are two reasons: they check the application first before they "accept" it, and it takes a long time for mail to make it out of the UKBA.

I would talk to the employer - the CoA is not necessary to demonstrate the right to work. They can just phone up the UKBA and get confirmation on the phone.

Of course the UKBA is required by law to issue CoAs "immediately", and they obviously fail to do that. But it seems very difficult to do anything about it.

I would write to the UKBA and request priority treatment. Make it clear that the UKBA failed to send the CoA, that you may lose your job, and that you will hold the UKBA responsible for your losses. If they follow their guidelines, they should grant your application priority. And I would also escalate the issue, either with Solvit, via your MP, or via the complaints process.

Thanks thsths
My new employer(not yet) and the current have already called the employer's helpline given by UKBA. n
New employer was asked to complete a form and send to UKBA to varify my status. It has been over a week since they sent this and no answer yet. Current employer said they will call the number and check. Not sure how long this will take.

On the positive side, i received the following from UKBA North West region customer services office:
>>>>>>>>>
Thank you for the email,
I have sent your request to the correct team who deal with COA requests and marked it as urgent for you.
>>>>>>>>>

I just hope that I receive something soon.
