No problem buddy - we are all on the same boat more or less...

I tried the premium but for working for own company comes as a curse, so I had to pick the painful way of posting... and counting days.

My advise to you is try the premium option if money is no object. Not sure of your category... but certainly there should be someone who could do it for you.

Once I posted my docs, someone told me about the workpermit.com people doing the postal apps on a fast tracked manner that they can do it in days than months, but at a price. Nobody told me these things before I take the plunge... so here I'm telling you. If you can, just pay the price and get it sorted.

I'm desperately waiting to get my ILR as I have a house to buy, offer accepted and I'm liable for penalties if I don't close the deal on time.

This waiting is horrible after paying thousands of pounds and paying over hundred thousand as tax over few years...

I'm disappointed and equally very angry !

I wanted to do the premium service but the closest locations dont have anything available before august!! Its crazy! When i Googled ILR a lot of different service came up but Im just worried about whether they are legit or not. We dont mind spending extra money to get it done quicker, we would actually prefer it so we can get that piece of mind. Ill have a look at workpermit.com, we are on the SET M application...hopefully we would still be able to use that site?

That's exactly my status, but + Biometrics + from Sheffield.

Not yet received the biometric appointment !

I tried this phone number on the acknowledgement letter they sent me - 0870 606 7766, and picked the Option 3 - then it was a dead end.

Biometrics for ILR kicked in only after 29th Feb if I recall correctly, which will be why you've not had a request for an appointment. Don't worry, it'll only take a few more weeks/months.

Who knows?! UKBA make their own rules on this unfortunately. I posted my application on 14 February (before the BRP rule came into effect) and got my documents returned on 15 March saying I had used the "wrong form". I obviously hadn't because when I applied the BRP rule had not come into effect. I had to re-apply, wasted one month, and now still waiting for my passport. I know many others who applied in February have been let through the net although their applications may not have been dealt with until March. I can only say I am unlucky.

Exactly took 24 weeks... Couple of emails in past (no use), wrote my MP on 15/06/12, MP forwarded expedite letter on 18/06/12 cc me as well... nice letter(I think this might worked).... Changing job after 5 years and Joining new one on 9 July so very happy... Just in time.... However, my new employer already used Employer checking services and received a positive reply from UKBA.

My parents received my passport at home. I am at work place (doing my 1 month notice period) so will update you regarding stamping date and delivery option later on.

I applied for ILR (SET O/) along with my wife and son on 21st of Oct 2011 through premuim service since we didnt want any stress and paid almost double the amount than the postal service. during the appointment the officer was very confused of what she should do next and was consulting her senior for everything. Our papers were perfect and she also confirmed that but she said one of my file from 2003 was open and some other dept and it needs to be enquired. we were informed that we will receive a letter in 7-10 days about the outcome and gave us a letter with no phone number but with our ref number. its been more than 8 months of agony and wait but still got nothing from them. called them twice but got the reply that it is still in process. felt deflated but then wrote a letter to local MP about our situation but got the same reply. me and my family are so stressed that there are no word to express. couldnt go to India for special occasions in the family also. feel stuck in this country. could not understand what the problem is. If they want to reject then it fine but then they should inform of what is happening. I believe no process takes more than 8 months. this is just absurd. my colleagues who applied couple of months after me through postal service have already got their passports.
Anyone has any idea what else I can do except waiting.

I will suggest to go for Subject Access Request this may prompt UKBA to make a decision on your application on time. Alternatively or what I think is the best is to send them a complaint letter to their complaint department in Croydon, make sure that you Inform them in it that if they did not respond to your letter within 20 workings you will take the case to Paliarmentary Obusman. There may be other way to your issue, I leave it for other experience member to advice you. Good luck.

Finally....Its here. It arrived about 12 today second class signed for from Liverpool. My time line.

SET(0) Work permit holder + dependent.
Sent application 5 Jan 2012. Acknowledged the same week.
Wrote to the media, Contacted MP twice. lots of swearing....
date of issue 25 June 2012.
passport received 29 June 2012.

next step, catching up + chasing for a full refund.

Applied: Feb 6 2012
Acknowledgement: Feb 8 2012
Money taken: Feb 8 (thereabouts)
ILR granted: 22 June 2012 (posted from Liverpool office)
Documents returned: 29 June 2012
Delivery: 2nd class signed for
Total wait: 20 weeks

My case had some complications, but was based on two consecutive work permits. Just glad to be done with it. Best of luck to you all.

Exactly took 24 weeks... Couple of emails in past (no use), wrote my MP on 15/06/12, MP forwarded expedite letter on 18/06/12 cc me as well... nice letter(I think this might worked).... Changing job after 5 years and Joining new one on 9 July so very happy... Just in time.... However, my new employer already used Employer checking services and received a positive reply from UKBA.

My parents received my passport at home. I am at work place (doing my 1 month notice period) so will update you regarding stamping date and delivery option later on.

Total waiting time: 21 weeks.

I sent letter of expedite for business purposes via my MP but this had no effect. Lesson is to get it done in person!

Hi guys, (Set M application)

been waiting ages for something and received letter today saying that my wife needs to have her Biometrics taken, is this the correct procedure for an ILR application. Is it the last stage. ?????

Finally letter dated 26/06/2012 received today, only 15 days to get it back. Does the Post Office send the letter back for you??

Please can someone help as I am a little confused. No mention of this Biometrics before.

hi applicant must have their biometric taken as part of ilr aplication. i have done it 3 weeks ago. you need to take that letter with you. it does not take long and there is £20 fee you need to pay to the post office. ones the post office taken your biometric , it goes to the ukba sistem aoutomaticly and you keep the letter. that is what i was told at post office if you go on ukba website it tells you where the nearest post office is that you can go because not all post offices does biometric enrolent services. when did you apply if you dont mind me asking? good luck with your application.
