Hi RS_UK,
I think you will be hearing anytime soon now as New Delhi BHC is processing applications a bit faster than the others as it has more staff there. The last we heard was application submitted on 13th April at VFS jalandhar has been processed. You will be hearing something very soon :).

Hi,
I have applied from Hyderabad too, have you contacted them regarding the average processing times? I have sent VFS an email requesting atleast average processing time for Hyderabad haven't got a reply yet.!!

Hi Ali,

Yeah, I just called to know when to expect ours. They said, currently it is 66 days, but could take longer. When I asked them why it is not attended to on a priority basis, they said that there is no such thing as BHC having to do it within 60 days and they can jolly well take however much time they need.

Upon calling up VFS office today, we were informed that the average processing time for applications being processed in Delhi is around 55 working days and the time for processing of the application is merit, location and complexity dependent for batch of applications received in 10 days time frame.

@sanghasaab et al

thanks for your replies. i think the olympic games and the drive to reduce immigration queues at uk airports has increased the number of applications and reduced the number of people of processing them. i guess no news is good news for the moment. i will update you all when i have some news. thanks

That is just unacceptable.!! there should be some time frame specified for the settlement visas as well. they wont take settlement cases until they finished with visit and other visa categories and treat us like second grade people :(..

@Ali,

I know how ridiculous it is! I can complain about it for hours and hours. I wish they could know how painful it is to spend three months away from their partners because of a bureaucratic process that takes longer than it should and on top of that give stupid excuses to prolong the processing times even more!

All this while, we have to wonder whether the visa will come through or not, because they couldn't bother to go through the documents properly or ask for clarification, instead just send a refusal and ask you to reapply or appeal!

Another bureaucratic scam!

Anyway, just have to calm myself down and wait because like you said we dont mean anything to them, and we just have to SIT and WAIT.

delay in settlement visa

Post by sraz » Fri Jul 06, 2012 5:15 am

Hii All, The latest update from VFS is that the settlement category may extend to 4 months (eventhough current processing time is 69 working days for cochin), because of their hectic schedule and least priority given to settlement cases...........very miserable, dont know what to say, I'm heartbroken

So How long do they have the intention to hold our passports and originals and keep screwing our papers.....
really worried.cant digest the fact that we have spent immense time energy and money and we are just building desperate thoughts.

@sraz,
Did they confirm, is it applicable for cochin only OR everyone.
Have every applicant to wait till 4 months?

Really pathetic...:O

51 working days for me now.

I called the VFS and asked them whats the current processing times for Mumbai and they said 62 working days :(. I have applied in Pune but it goes to Mumbai for processing, I am not sure if it goes to south or north

I think its going to be a long wait..

Any applicants for Mumbai location here?

Its highly inhumane for these people to make applicants wait till 3and half months and inform a refusal.

could'nt they check it long back?
Its thretening to see refusals after such a long wait
