Hello!

I've arrived in the UK in March with a EEA FP issued abroad valid for 6 months..after a couple of months I sent the request for the EEA2.

I posted my documents on the 24th of May, received by the HO on the next day, and so far I still haven't received nor the CoA or the RC!

I've learnt through this thread that many of you guys managed to contact the HO for information..

I've tried the number provided on their website and all I got was an automatic message saying they have 6 months to return my passport, I didnt even had the option to speak to someone!

Could you please let me know which number you guys called and the email address I can write to them as well..

Best of luck!

Regards

Vilson

Guys do you have any idea what may be going on?!
My 6 months was over on the 24th of July.
Called HO few times and they told me to clarify that ''A letter was produced on the 19th of July. We can't tell you whether it has left the office or not, as you haven't provided a prepaid envelope. Therefore, I would advise you to wait as it will be sent by 2nd Class Delivery. ''
A letter was produced? What letter? And how long it takes to leave the office?
I hate living in the suspense!!

It doesn't matter if they sent it with 2nd nor 10th Class Delivery. the fact, they're not abiding by EEA 6months rule, if I were you I will be calling them at least 5times a day until you got positive answer and you got all right to Complain.

Calling the HO now waiting for them to answer!

One thing I don't get is; why on earth if they say ''a package was sent'' they simply don't tell you what decision was taken rather than keeping you in the dark?!!

It's frustrating!! I heard usually once an application is done, it goes in the 'dispatch department' and God knows when it leaves!

same here, last week ukba told me on the phone they sent us a packet, but untill now it hasn't arrived yet (sent out last week on monday).

they even gave me a tracking number but it is a "Recorded Signed For" item so can only be tracked once delivered. (strangely it is not our own special delivery envelope we put inside when we made the application)

did ukba give you a tracking number?

The facts is they're NOT coming up with the truth about ones application info, 2nd class mail normally takes 7 working days or even lesser I got letter they sent to my wife using so called 2nd class mail with in 3 working days. So I doubt their 2nd class mail blaming games.

The problem is not that they dont pick up the phone (they do after ~25 minutes or a bit longer)
The problem is that they say a packet is sent but they dont want to say what is in the packet or even what the decision or status of an application is.
That's just ridiculous.

Bad news guys!

Solicitor called, Application was refused!! :( (Letter dated 19th July)

My partner and I are unmarried, she deserved all her rights through her dad.
We have a child together who just turned 1. Lived together over 2 years and been together over 4 years!

Main reason why they refused is that, Im not related to her dad.

So, I guess I will have to appeal!

Good luck to those waiting,
Hope it's good news for you!

I have the same story. Today i've been told that they sent me a package last Friday. They did not let us know what exactly did they sent, whether it was just my passport (as we have requested it) or whether it was RC or other decision. :( They have also sent it by signed delivery and they have provided me with the tracking number of THEIR envelope, while when we have requested my passport back, we have asked them to send it in our next day special delivery pre-paid envelope.
All we have to do now is wait :-(

that they didnt use your envelope seems to indicate that they kept some of your documents and will use that envelope later for sending your remaining documents to you.....i guess

They are not simply ignoring, when i phoned them i could hear that many of them are actially on a phone and are dealing with other callers. I was on the phone with them for about 15-20 minutes, so as other people. They are busy.

I am agree that it is very annoying that they do not tell you about the status once the documents already left the HO. I do not understand the logic of not telling people about the decision if the envelope is already on the way.

Nice simple case, Kiwi lad married to an Irish lass and living together in Dublin

EEA 2 Applied for 12th February 2012
Received by HO 14th February 2012
COA issued with full right to work 9th March 2012

I requested my wife's passport back in April as she needed to travel, sent back to us within a week.

After requesting my passport back in May (which they did not action)
When I rang to chase, I was told that I was not guaranteed entry on my NZ passport and COA (so I left the passport with HO)

I then requested passport again on the 20th July as need to travel in August, rang to chase this up on 27th July, and got an abusive woman who wanted to cancel my application, once she calmed down and realised that I was only chasing my requested passport return, told me she would chase this and that I should not bother requesting it back as they will only be looking at my case the next week as its the last week before 6 months (can't believe she admitted they dont even look at them until then)

Anyway the good news is that my Passport arrived with all my documents and the RC in it

RC dated 27th July
Delivered 4th August

so just under the 6 month mark

I will say there are some really nice folks who work for the HO who are very helpful and others who are very bitter and grumpy........... but I think one of the main issues is people ringing for updates on COA and RC, rather than using the email or phone for just passport returns as it says...........

we need to be patient and expect COA's in 4-6 weeks and RC's in 6 months......... although this may be just for simple cases
