stoorrey wrote:I have to apply for my ILR on 10 year basis at in a few days. Just wanted take your help before I send my application.
Do I need any other supporting docs apart from the list below?
• Previous Passports
• Acknowledgement and Visas issue Letters received from HO in last 10 years
• Life in UK Pass Notification Letter
• 3 months bank statements
• 2 Photos
• A set of Photocopies of all supporting docs
What else do I need? I don’t have SAR cause i didn’t apply on time
Do I need a covering letter? I don’t have any gaps or absentees from UK. All my visas applications were made on time and extended on time.
Your help will be much appreciated.
Hi
As far as I know, for application under long residence basis you need to have all your passports covering your stay in the UK and LIUK notification letter along with the completed form. As you have mentioned you do not have any gaps you do not need to worry about anything at all.

I have been following this topic for quiet a while to gather information. I have applied my ILR on 31.Aug.2012.

I have been in UK since Sep.2002.

Student: 2002 - 2007
IGS: 2008 - 2009
Tier 1 Dependent: 2009 - Present.

I have lost my first passport which I used to enter the UK but did submit all the copies of all the pages including the blank ones from the first passport except one blank page. I did not realise that I am missing one until I saw the page numbers on the copies.

I did request my SAR and luckily I got the first landing card(2002) and the copies of my passport that they have on file.

I also received all the letters from Home office about approved visa extensions.

I submitted all these documents and hopefully within six months I get the ILR.

I am hopeful that the Homeoffice wont question me about one missing photocopy of the page as they have all my travel history on their system.

Hi , i dont think the home office will question you on ur lost passport. When u asked for SAR what box did u check please.Hopefully u will get ur ilr b4 6months .
I ticked all the boxes, I even got the email transcripts i.e conversation between me and home office when i applied for the dependent visa in India.

the relevant person in India did not knew that i had to apply from India when changing from student to dependent and has asked me to go back to apply .

but i was told to go to India and apply and even the documentation states the same.

So i have all the conversation and me pointing out the relevant clauses in the documentation to home office and the person in india querying the UKBA for clarification.

It is shambles...

      Hi All

Some good news at last - I've just picked my ILR docs from my lawyer.

      Timeline:

      Application date: 23-April-2012
      Acknowledgement letter date: 30-April-2012
      Fee taken on 1-May-2012
      Bio letter dated: 9-Jun-2012
      Bio data submitted: 18-Jun-2012
      BPR issued on 13-Sep-2012
BPR + docs received on 18-Sep-2012

      Case summary:

8yrs student + 4yrs WP however could not apply earlier due to total absences from the UK being over 540 days. I don't have original passports covering first four years as the issuing government used to confiscate old passports when issuing new ones.

      Docs submitted:

Passports + copies, LIUK, letters from school / uni / employer, bank statements, council tax letters, GP letters. Sounds like an overkill but since I didn't have one of my passports I thought this wouldn't hurt.
      I applied through a lawyer.

      I've updated the SkyDrive - http://sdrv.ms/LpFy1N

Best of luck to everybody!! This forum was very helpful!

      ILR complicated case and success

      Post by Dhakavillage1 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 1:21 pm

      Hi all,

I've received my ILR. The following is my timeline.

Application sent date: 24th April 2012
Acknowledgement letter date: 1st May 2012
Invitation for biometric date: 25th July 2012
Biometric enrolment date: 25th July 2012
BRP issued date: 15th September 2012
Passport received date: 19th September 2012

I applied through an immigration adviser. Documents submitted are photos, passports, certificates from schools I've attended, and all my education certificate. My total absence from the UK was a more than 800 days and never exceeded the limit for single absence 180 days. My student visa was refused in 2006 but an appeal was allowed in March October 2007. I used same adviser at that time.

This website had been a great help to keep me as well as my legal adviser follow up and special take care give me big relief. Thank you for everyone who shares their knowledge and information.
I hope everyone waiting for their ILR will receive it soon.

      Hey

Congrats on you ILr.. Enjoy your freedom. your case gives hope to other people . Normally the rule states.

"continuous period is broken if the applicant spent a total of 18 months outside the UK throughout the whole 10 year period."

Hopefully others who are in same situation get it too.

I would like to suggest a column or row on the sky drive , that solicitor used or not, applicants can say whether solicitors used then we can put yes, if not we can put No.

This will help other future applicants that how many people used solicitors.
