It seems the least they could do seeing as you paid the extra premium for the settlement checking service! ...I thought this service was meant to fast-track you and give some priority?
Either way, glad you finally got a result! :)

I think the settlement checking service is just another ploy from the government to make money!!

Application ILR processing times

Post by Lumakinha » Sat Sep 29, 2012 9:06 am

Hi All

Mine is a bit more complicated cos after 5 years of marriage/visa I was getting divorced as well, so I have applied for ILR but with few complications. (long story)
Application sent on 01.06.2012
Acknoledgement Letter received on 05.08.2012
Still waiting for the rest, it has been 4 months now. I think i will wait forever

Hi all,

37 working days after biometric is only for SET(O) application or for SET(M) application as well? It have been 30 working days that my wife has done biometric. Still waiting.

Cheers

It has been way over 37 working days since several SET(M)applicants on this board, including me, had our biometrics done, and we have not yet received our BRP's. But I note that there are also SET(O) applicants for whom that is true. I am not at all sure that the claim about 37 days is correct, especially since in the letter I received about SET(M) applications submitted in the first week of June, it said that 509 applications had been received that week, and as of September 25th only 44 had been processed -- and then it said that all June applicants could expect a decision within 53 days! Obviously, as I noted in an earlier post, those two statements contradict each other.

It's incredible and also random. We've been waiting nearly 7 months since application but we felt confident after getting the biometric enrollment letter after 6 weeks. I have no idea how long we will have to wait with no information but as you say, may god help us all!

Give them acknowledge letter from home office and section 3c&3d of immigration act which make it clear if yours application is outstanding you are legally allowed to work.

Knowing UKBA, I wont be surprised if the 37 working days processing time after biometrics that is being quoted, is including the PEO appointments which effectively have 0 days waiting time.

Need to travel 13th of October

Post by ILRstress » Mon Oct 01, 2012 3:54 pm

Hi all,

I sent in my application Set M by post 11th of July. Submitted my Biometric data on the 10th of Sep. I have been chasing the Home Agency by fax and e-mail since 10th of Sep. My local MP also sent in a letter 20th of Aug. Still no news at all.

Anyone has any idea what else can be done? The trip is fully paid for and can't be postphoned. Had to bring it forward from next year due to worsening of health of a family member travelling together.

Need all the help I can get...

Many thanks!

Hi,

It does say on the receipt letter from UKBA,not to make any travel arrangements until BRP is received.

Many people submitted their biometric data in August, and havent received ILR yet, so in my opinion your data sent in September, could be awhile yet.

UKBA state that they have a duty to complete ILR applications within 6 months , the only way any letters from a MP or an applicant would expediate the process, if the application was not resolved after 6 months.

I did read a story, that an applicant's parent died, and they contacted UKBA to return their passports to attend the funeral, but they stated, it would take 4 weeks to return their documents, and cancel the application.

My wife and I have waited for 15/16 weeks for a resolution, we want to go back to see her family end of Nov,and book a flight - but we can't.

Keep hoping.
