Naturalisation date?

Hi,

I cam here in UK on WP back in Nov 2006 and got my ILR on 1st Nov 2011.

I understand I can apply for my naturalisation on 1st Nov 2012?

I am travelling on two week trip to Europe on 3rd Nov 2012.

Could you please suggest if it will be ok to apply for naturalisation through NCS on 1st Nov???

Q2: Can I travel after applying for naturalisation?

If applied using NCS, you will be able to keep your original documents. You need to be physically present in the UK when the HO receives your application and that is why NCS will request not to travel for 5 days following the appointment with them. After that you can travel (just don’t forget to come back for the ceremony if approved).


So that mean I should apply when I will back as I am travelling on 3rd Nov so applying on 1st Nov will not make sense.

I am in same boat.
Got ILR on 7th December 2011, eligible to apply 7th December 2012, I will be travelling on 9th December 2012.
Looking at several posts, Home Office receive applications from NCS in 2-3 days.
You can apply on 31st October so that your application will reach HO by 1st-2nd November.
But still it's a risk.

Most NCS send applications same day or a day after and reach the UKBA one day or two days later max.

Guys just apply when you come back from your trip (Peace of Mind).

Also make sure that you were physically present in the UK, 5 years before, on the date Home Office receives your application. Again home office receives your application not the date you make your application either via NCS or through post. So say home office receives your application on 20th Nov 2012 then make sure that you were physically present in the UK on 20th Nov 2007
