Dear All
there is no JR yet, those who applied for JR at High court is still pending and will be pending until mid April 2013 because first case will be heard by High court in Mid April 2013.

therefore whatever you guy's heard is all rumor not truth.

so anybody interested for JR please keep wait to get result from High court and its still 5 months away.

By the way my solicitor was representing another case at a different location and that judge allowed the appeal based on ACCA fundamental level today.

if thats the case send a personal message as sometimes dodgy solicitors use this as an advertising board and may mislead vulnerable applicants into taking their services.

This was the kind of explanation I have been hoping to get from people who have been promoting other solicitors here, however it is clear that they haven't understood the key points in their cases or simply not able to express themselves.

It is the EVIDENCE and the facts of the case that wins an appeal not an individual (whether its Marfat/anyone else).

Anyways keeping my fingers crossed not too optimistic about myself, however I think the argument was very reasonable and would give the judge plenty to think about.

Any solicitor who argues that acca could award degrees if they wanted to is completely misguided and fundamentally misunderstands the academic system in this country. As i have stated previously merely having a royal charter does not mean an organisation can award degrees. The bbc has the royal charter, so does the chartered institute of linguistics, do they claim they could award degrees if they wanted? I do hope that ACCA Itself has not made such claims a they would be subject to a huge fine if they did.

in order to award degrees an institution needs to have been granted the power to award degrees either by royal charter or act or parliament. ACCA has been granted a royal charter but this makes no mention of their power to award degrees. Why? Because they have no such power.

I believe that people have won their appeals, I just don't believe everyone will because the arguments make no sense.

And in the absence of anyone uploading a successful determination it is impossible to know the judge's reasoning for allowing such appeals.
