Applied 11/5/12 and still waiting after 27 weeks. Is there anyone in HOME office who really cares. Playing with the people's feelings and give them more pain and stress is their main job. Plz show mercury to the people who can't sleep coz of ur mismanagement.

I had applied on 28th June 2012 and my Biometric done on 31st Aug 12. I have not received my passport so far ( 15.11.12). Two days ago I had requested just my passport for ungent travel but the HO refused they said if I want the passport back than I have to withdraw my application and reapply again cause they have not made any decision so far ( application is still in process ) It is almost 21 weeks has been passed. So frustrating its equal to mental torture.

Clarification

Post by let_koko » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:34 am

Could this reason be why my biometric invitation is being delayed ?

Firstly, I came in to UK in Aug 29 2002 as a student and in 2003, i made an application to renew my visa, this was refused and i was given right to appeal, i did the appeal between the time frame given.

After 8 months into the appeal, i made another application to the HO and they acknowledged the application an then i withdrew the appeal from the tribunal and the new application was successful . would this count as a continuous stay in the UK for the purpose of Long residence ?

Secondly, my college was taking off the sponsor in June 2012, just 2 months before i qualify for my 10 years lawful residence. In HO website, it says you have to look for another college withing 60 days and re-apply for Tier 4 through the new college. I see this as rip off because within the 60 days, i had already qualify for 10 years i then made my application for Indefinite in Aug 6 2009

Has anyone had this same experience in the past, what was the outcome ?

I need to know all these please.
Thanks

Either ways...I personally think Biometric will be offered on the merits of valid Application form rather into the contents of the form...

Re: complain letter template, email address and postal addre

Post by smshad » Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:14 pm

Hi,

I sent the email below to Home Office on 05.11.12 and shared the email next minute on forum requesting others to send the similar email but looks like not many of us have sent the email. I have still not received any reply from them but noticed few early August applicants have received their BMetric.

Everyone waiting for Biometric for this period please send email using details below.

Why do you want to send anonymous email ? I think that they wont deal with anonymous emails and included all my details as per email.

UKBACustomerComplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Thanks.

Dear Sir / Madam,

I understand from UKBA website that Home Office welcomes comments to resolves the complaints and improve the services. I would like to bring to your attention an issue related to service standards regarding ILR application process.

I find out that almost all applicants who applied on SET (O) 10 years stay in the UK category between mid July 2012 to mid August 2012 are still waiting for their Biometrics invitation letters from Home Office, whereas applicants who applied in late August 2012 (on and after 24/08/2012) have already received their Biometric invitation letters from Home Office in last week of October. I find out this information from various forums where applicants share their visa application time-lines.

I believe that Home Office deals with applications in the order they are received until there is any compelling circumstances. Because applications sent at later dates have received their Biometric invitation letters this has become a reason of concern for applicants who sent their applications earlier. Could you please investigate or raise it with relevant teams.

I would like to mention here that I am also an applicant under the same category but I do not intend to raise my individual case but as an issue faced by a group of applicants who applied for ILR on SET (O) between mid of July 2012 to mid of August 2012.

I will be grateful to you if you please raise this concern with relevant teams.

Kind regards,

Hi there,
I am also a 16th August applicant waiting for my biometrics letter. i also want to write to the Home Office and use this letter as a template.
When you wrote to them, did you include your full name, address, reference etc or did you send the email to them anonymous?
Thanks

Nope, this wouldn't be the case. We can see many applicants in that time frame has not received their Bio Invite. that includes me. However, they seem to be sending the invitations for the "Olympic Applicants" from last week. So fingers crossed ours is on the way tomorrow or day after.

And congrats Smshad. good luck for the rest of the wait

For August Applicants Expecting Bio metric letter

Post by naqeeb » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:29 am

Hi,

I am one of the applicants who applied in late august and expecting biometric appointment letter.

I am enclosing a link which is the reply from the home office under the freedom of information act. By the looks of the reply there seems to be some good news expected by end of november as they are unwilling to give out the details. Also you can pester them with emails under the freedom of information act from this website, i make it a point to send one email a week.

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/1 ... 7.pdf.html

Anyway keep calm and focus on other things as well to reduce the stress, easier said than done. I have decided i am going to wait till 1st week of february and if nothing happens then gonna withdraw my application as am getting married in march and cant delay any more.

Hi,

I don’t want to discourage anyone but there will be no good news. Home Office publish data at certain intervals and last time when they published the data they already mentioned that new figures will be published by the end of November 2012.

I am not sure what we will achieve sending FOI requests to Home Office because they will treat these types of requests as duplication and will give same answers as to the request in link below.

I would suggest that if anyone has a valid point/complaint then send complaints email to the Home Office complaint email address.

Thanks.

Guys,

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but it is waste of time to write them or request stats, especially prior to reaching your 6month mark. Does it really makes you feel better?

Home Office officers are following procedures and due to general UK cuts, they are most likely as most of the other state institutions, they are understaffed, as well as due to many external reasons, they are overwelmed with applications. As, I am sure they have focused their resourses on "Olympic Games" applications during the spring and summer and as you might be aware some legislations have changed during the summer, so there was increased number of appicants under the dependant applicants. They have indicated previously, they don't have a team that deals with one specific category, they work accross different visa types.

Don't get me wrong, I am in the same boat as every one else here. But just getting tired of so many you moaning about not getting their letters, mine came through after 2,5month too. So, I am also waiting and getting to the 6month point, but however frustraiting it is you just need to be patient and let them deal with applications.

Wishing all of you best of luck!!!!

what did you do to get them to call you?
In one of my previous post in this forum I explained the whole mess I was in. Anyways, long story short, I contacted my local mp a few weeks back and one of her assistants contacted the UKBA on my behalf to request my passport back. I needed my passport back as I recently got offered a job & my new employer needs to have a look at my passport and degree certificates. So a few days back a lady from the UKBA called me to ask me my home address where she could post my passport to and clarify the reason why I requested my documents back. She also informed me that my biometric invitation letter was dispatched. That is all really.

I must say that the lady didn't want to disclose/discuss any more information regarding my application. I was a little worried at first when she told me that she was calling from the UKBA. I know from past experience that the UKBA generally don't call the applicant unless it's a serious issue & they want to discuss things in person. I am afraid that requesting my passport back will further delay my application. But I had no choice really.

Hi Guys,

Just received the Biometric Invite today and went to the post office to do the business. Giving them the digital signature was a bit awkward to do. Plus, you have to pay £19!

Applied: 10/08/2012
Acknowledged: 20/08/2012
Biometric Invite: 17/11/2012
