As per your second question, you technically can (see my post above) but it will be EXTREMELY messy if your EEA wife is not traveling with you. Be prepared to spend hours at border control.

Also, does that mean that you have your passports already, or you are planning on asking for your passports back from the UKBA? If you could post your experiences requesting passports in this forum:

http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... c&start=40

It would be appreciated. If you have not successfully received your passports back from the UKBA, you might be completely out of luck for traveling in the next little while.

Sorry I forgot to mention, but I do have my passport.

If it need be, my wife can meet me at the airport when I come back which could help.

It seems like this person was able to do it, even without a COA

With the CoA, you should have no problem entering. Have your marriage certificate and copy of your wife passport in your hand luggage as back up but I suspect you won't need to show it.

Fax, email, letter... it appears that it was the fax from them which was responded to.

Hi Sofia,
Please go through the following link:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... documents/

I have downloaded 'return of documents' form from there and then sent the filled form to UKBA via email.
hope it helps...
here is the email address:

STILL NO LUCK.. Was hoping to get my RC this past week but was just disappointed... Losing hope now for Christmas and New year and our sons' first birthday... we were hoping to celebrate it with relatives in Ireland and now it's just the 3 of us here...

Why can't they just give the RC if they've already investigated and provided COA with permission to work... Sometimes it seems like they're having a laugh at everyone...

appeal a CoA?

Post by jevahr » Sun Dec 09, 2012 12:42 am

I received my CoA this week, but it says it 'can not confirm my right to work.' I'm the spouse of an EU citizen and we included all the necessary supporting documents in our application (passports, marriage certificate, work contract, etc).
How do I get a CoA confirming my right to work? Does anyone have experience with this that can lend advice? Or general advice?

What I've done so far is send a registered letter detailing the EU law provisioning my legal status/rights and requesting a new CoA demonstrating this. Should I call? Can someone what number they've used and actually been able to speak to someone?

EEA2 App: 22/11/12
CoA: 04/12/12

congrates i would like to know whats special about your application that it took only 4months while some of us have been waiting for over 5 months without RC. I rang them several times to request for my COA because my employer asked for it, i have never rang them again or requested for any document.

This is my time line;
Application sent: 9/7/12
Application received by ho:10/7/12
COA: 4/10/12 dated 2/10/12
RC: still waiting.

Well nothing special about my application firstly we got married in France and my wife is exercising treaty rights in U.K for the last four years. I sent as many documents as i could like Tenancy agreements, Wife payslips for last three months, Employment contract, Letter from her employer, bank statements for the last three months, my payslips and bank statements plus wedding pictures. I think it also depends on the person who is dealing with your case. Personally i was not expecting anything before six months and had planned not to chase them up until then.

Hey guys,

In case I don't get the RC in the next ten days, I am planning to write a letter to them, I want to let them know that its been 5 months, and we are on our way to the 6 months deadline.

I don't know how to phrase the letter, don't want it to sound too harsh, but still want to get my point across, any tips/suggestions?
