Once visa granted - Questions

Post by waz3x » Fri Dec 07, 2012 4:26 pm

Salam,

I have the following questions:

- Once visa is granted (in Pakistan to UK), do you have to go to the UK within 28 days? Ive searched older posts and have seen conflicting answers.

- What questions do airport Immigration ask when arriving in the UK? do they interrogate the couple individually? This is for the spouse visa.

Thanks :)

You can enter the UK any time during the validity of the visa. There is no interrogation (or waterboarding for that matter).

^LOL @ waterboarding

@waz3x

It's best to come within 3 months of the date the visa is issued and normally questions on arrival to the UK vary from, one or two questions about simple stuff e.g. what is your spouses name, when did you get married? How long do you intend to stay in the UK?
It's nothing to be worried about :wink:

As mentioned in one of the sticky's
"The visa itself runs for 27 months and is probationary. You should travel to UK within 90 days to avoid having to apply for an extra extension before becoming eligible for settlement. "

Re: Intensity of the questions; some people get questioned in quite a detail nonetheless it will all be related to what you have put down during the Visa application process.

Please note that above rules are no longer valid; new guidelines are:

"If you applied to come to the UK or for permission to stay here on or after 9 July 2012 and that permission was granted, you will need to be in the UK for 5 years before you qualify for settlement. You will initially be given leave to enter for 2 and a half years, and then you can apply for another period of 2 and a half years"

Why are you are giving wrong information. The 27 month rule is still valid for people who applied before 9th July.
