IMPORTANT - New Form AN published - December 2012

Post by psb » Sun Jan 06, 2013 10:15 pm

A new application form for British citizenship (Form AN) was published last month December 2012.

It is important to inform applicants of this new form because they may lose their fee for using the wrong form.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... orm_an.pdf

I am due to apply for naturalisation in four months and I have already completed the referee section (Page 12) using the old form since the referee lives abroad. I used the old Form AN 2010.

There is a small amendment on page 12. I intend to use page 12 as the old version and the rest of the form the new version.

Would this be acceptable or do I have to get the referee to complete the new revised form (December 2012)?

I applied on the 17/12/12 (received by UKBA on 19/12/12) and used the old form and now quite worried!!

If new Form was introduced on 22 Dec 2012 than old form is valid up to 12 Jan 2013 and not merely upto 03 Jan

This refers to applications under the immigration rules (leave to remain/settlement) and not naturalisation (this is why form AN is not listed there). The 21 days rule doesn't apply to naturalisation application. There is no legal requirement to apply using the latest form (in fact, using the form is not mandatory).

You all will be fine. No need to worry.
