ILR Success 17 Jan 2013

Post by namastelondon » Thu Jan 17, 2013 5:24 pm

I got ILR today in sheffield. Thanks to all members of the forum who have shared their experience.

While browsing through some posts in this forum, I was getting confused due to some answers.
I think success messages posted by members were very useful as it provide checklist of documents required and we can easiy correlate with those cases.

Here is mine. It was very straightforward case

HSMP Stamped - 13 Feb 2008

Came to UK - 7 April 2008 (54 days after getting visa)

Visa extended and Tier 1 valid till 13 Feb 2013.
ILR applied - 17th Jan 2013 (27 days before due date).

I was in permanent employment but moved to contracting in Dec. I showed my permanent payslips only.

Documents provided -

SET (O) form - new one, some guys were still coming with old form
Passports
12 months bank statements
12 month pay slip
4 years P60
Cover letter - just to show how many total absences(85 in total).
Utility bills- council tax, water bill which includes my dependent's name.
No employer letter- My previous employer said that we cannot give letter for holidays taken as required by UKBA.
Life in UK test
Photocopies- caseworker still made his own photocopies.

Process at Sheffield-
Appointment as 9. Entered at 8.40, security check done
Got token number
Documents checked
Made payment
Documents submitted
biometrics at 10.00
case worked assigned at 10.10- asked me to come back at 11.00
came back at 11.10 and someone told me that my token no was called 3 times after every 5 minutes. Caseworker told me that my case was very straight forward
collected documents and left at 11.20

Job done.

Congratulations.

I'm hoping my case will be equally straightforward. Thanks for the run down.

I have my Life in the UK test on Tuesday and appointment on Friday. Feeling anxious and quadruple checking I have everything in order.

I think you should allow at least two days for results to reach ukba. It says either in guidance or in the form itself. Worth checking.
