57 working days or 57 days?
Suvi001 wrote:Hi all,
Been looking at this site from last 10 days... Wish I would have known tgis before I applied dependent wife application(Settlement). Great discussion and understanding and helping each other out is quite remarkable. Hope and pray to god every one gets visa and meet their loved ones sooner.

These waiting times are frustrating for couples. Wonder why ukba takes so long. Surly they don't understand what goes between couples and families..How a hard it is to live apart.

Applied wife settlement visa on 30/11/2012 at VFS Hyderabad. Emailed after 30 days and got a reply saying processing time 57 days.
Application status Still underprocessing

Thanks and hope I get good advise from you guys

All the best for all of us

oh... so sorry to hear of your probs...
good luck with that....

i think what the barrister is saying is you have to keep to your main story...

surely you can always add more evidence ....but stick to your main story....

read carefully......the barrister is NOT saying you cant submit more details...

you can submit more evidence to strengthen the documents submitted

good luck

how does that compare with other palces?

PLEASE PEOPLE POST THE CORRECT SATGES, PROCESSES OF GETTING A SPOUSAL VISA.

WHICH IS MOST SENSIBLE ORDER ?

get married
GATHER AS MUCH DOCUMENTS AS POSSIBLE....
get passport
English test
Tb test
online app , PAY THE FEE ....
fingerprints and photo at appointment

THEN SUBMIT THE BIG FILE OF APPLICATION

PLEASE ADVICE......WHICH IS THE CORRECT ORDER
I would suggest that you start gathering documents now. Also ask your spouse to apply for the passport. It does not matter that your name is not on her passport since you are submitting the original marriage certificate anyway.

Without passport she will not be able to take the english test nor can she take the TB test. Get all these done ASAP so that you can apply as soon as you get married.

PS: check about the validity period of the TB test in case you are not applying straight away.

Spouse visa from India

Post by rockstar2k4 » Mon Feb 18, 2013 1:16 am

Hi All,

I'm hold British citizen and will be applying for my wife's visa from India.

1. To meet the English Language requirement

My wife studied M.Sc and pursuing M.Phil, but the Bachelor degree she studied from the University which is not in the Points table of UKBA, i.e. No points will be allocated for that university. So I was requested UK NARIC to issue a Certificate that will confirm the level of English as her degree thought in English, but they given the certificate including lot of summary confirming as 'Degree will not meet C1 level of English proficiency however it is possible us to confirm that she does meet at least A1 level of proficiency'.

Certificate is attached.

I do see the requirement is to meet A1 level English proficiency.

Also I've taken letter from University confirming that (bachelor) degree thought in English and medium of instruction is English.
And also trying to get similar letter from University for her Masters.

Now my question:
Attached this certificate will suffice to prove English language requirement?

2. To prove adequate accommodation:

Since I'm moving to new place shortly (before applying visa) and planning to stay at my friend place which 2 bed flat, but I will not be having any Tenancy agreement on my name except only my Bank statements.

How can I provide /meet the accommodation requirement in my circumstances?

Pls advise

Regards
Rocky

Our timeline:

Wife's settlement application. My status = ILR.

04/Oct/2012 - Application submitted at VFS Chennai
05/Oct/2012 - Under process at BHC Chennai
Dec & Jan/2013 - two email chasers sent to BHC Chennai after the 60day period. Theirs was a standard reply asking us to await for all the inquiry to be complete & that they couldn't give any ETA on that.

13/Feb/2013 - Visa granted till Nov 2015.

Good luck to all the others who are still awaiting the decision.

SMS and Online update: Processing at BHC
Emailed to VFS after 30 working days: Replied 57 working days to process
Emailed again after 50 working days: Replied be patient
SMS recieved and online update: Documents processed and shipped to
Blue dart on 21/02/2013 (56th Working
day).
Nervous Moments: No idea whats gonna Happen

Blue dart delivered (57th Working day): Visa granted for 33 months

Hope the above info helps for others to track their application for rough estimates

Guys tell you what its been stressful and nail biting for last 3 months. I spent sleep less nights reading forums, some inspectors report and all...Thinking what might have happen for my minor mistakes. I applied based on UKBA guidance without reading this forum. I was very nervous as some others submitted some extra documents which i haven't. Such as Sponsor notarized full passport copy, Face book timelines, Skype chats, Mobile phone bills, SU07 form, Birth certificate (mine and hers).

I only submitted originals what asked in the guidance form. Few others were extra cautious which is very good. I would have done that if i have seen this forum before.

Anyway by gods grace Me, Wife and my family are really very very happy especially for those who are newly married and your wife is away from you for last 3 months.

Guys only one thing I want to mention to end this message.

Patient, patient and only patient we need if you apply visa for UK.

Thank you all for sharing your information and Wish all of you ''All the very Best'' for your Applications....God Bless all of us..
