Evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions

Post by incywincy » Fri Feb 22, 2013 7:16 pm

hi,
i am applying for citizenship application. i need help in one question please. in AN application form they have described the documents you need to send on page 15 section 5 (last page).

SECTION 5 Evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions:required for all applicants except those covered by
SECTION 4 above
• Your passport showing permission to remain permanently in the UK OR
• The Home Office letter by which you were given permission to remain permanently in the UK
• If you came to the UK as an asylum seeker you should have evidence of appeal applications OR
• Evidence of being freely landed
my question is since march home office is not issuing ilr in passport.they are issuing bio metric residence card. do i need to submit in brp card with my application ? or i need to send following letters i received from home office.
1. letter attached along with my brp that only shows information about the unique number of my brp. (brp card attatched to this letter shows i have indefinite leave to remain).
2. letter about my docs they send me back . it shows my reference number and date of birth.
3. letter that tells my application for ilr is successful and there is lots of information about my rights in country . but this does not show any of my personal detail like reference number, name or date of birth.
sorry for this long time taking detail. plz sone on through some light on it.

Additional information using the NCS when applying

Post by rallykaran2013 » Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:09 pm

I think in this thread a little piece of extra information would be helpful.
As I understand there is quite a waiting list for NCS appointments, so maybe folks here should also include the date when they contacted a council for appointment and the date of which they attended the appointment.

This would give a more true picture of processing timelines.

Please next time open a new topic for your question, here is a topic only for timeline.
if you are applying trough post then send your biometric card and their letter with the rest of documents, If you are using NCS take all the letters and the biometric card with you, they will take a copy of them. in page 1 of application form put the reference of the UKBA in the box at the top which asking for reference number.
you will be fine, don't get panic and keep calm.
My advice for you is please read the guidance form AN properly, if you have not seen it you can find it here,
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... ide_an.pdf
Please read this, I promise you will find all your answers.

Has he received the acknowledgement letter? It can take up to six months before he gets the certificate of approval, it is only 4 weeks, there is no point in contacting them anyway, they will tell you we are unable to advice you if it's less than six months from the date of your application.

Tell him not to worry, some caseworkers are lazy, it may sound funny but is the truth unfortunately. The fee has been taken so the caseworker has started working on his file, if you look here, some prople never received acknowledgment letter but instead they got their approval after 4 or 5 weeks. So tell him to think positive. He will get the COA soon hopefuly.

I'm not sure if there is much of a waiting time - I contacted the Camden NCS on the 3rd Jan for an appointment on the 25th Jan. First they told me nothing was available, then they told me that the bookings hadn't opened up yet for that date. Though they had lots of timeslots in the next 2 weeks.

I then phoned Islington NCS who had no problem booking it immediately.

Can see some applicants from early Feb already getting their approvals. Fingers crossed UKBA keep up this pace!

It may vary by council but I phoned at lunchtime on a Thursday and got a 9am appointment for the following Monday, so less than 2 working days.

AN Application timeline

Post by Twilight35 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 6:37 pm

My 1st contact to the Council (Shropshire) was 21 Dec 2012 to arrange for NCS appointment, no answer from them until I contacted again on 07 Jan 2013 to query about my appointment when eventually they called me back same day ( after showing my displeasure) to get my actual appointment of the 29 Jan 2013.
Just mentioned what happened with me to get the NCS appointment and they subsequently blamed the backlog and the festive season!!!! :? :?
