hi guys,
Just updated my post, I received my COA today..yeeee exactly one month since I sent to HO. dated 12/02/13.

Finally they came before 20/02/13, and now my partner can request his passport back.
Thank you for the help especially flipper77, and congrat to you too.

Now long wait for my RC.

I have sent my ee2 application together with my partner eea3 on 15th Jan, Ho received on 16th Jan. However, I have lost my special delivery tracking number. I wrote email to Liverpool office asking for 1) CAO for me and 2) return of passport for my partner. They replied me very quickly, but told me without tracking number, they can not locate my application and cant send the passport back.

Yes, I have not received my COA yet, so they dont have my information on their database, I also contacted the local post office and royal mail, they both cant help me. Does anyone know how I can get back my partner passport?

Thank you very much.
chinouk,

As far as I'm aware, until the COA is issued, the only reference for your application is your Special Delivery number - this means they'd need to look up your details using that number.

How do you know that they received your application on 16th?

Hey mcru, that's great! That's how I was hoping my request would work out... I requested my passports back February 1st and got them back the 7th, which was GREAT. However, my application was received by the HO January 14th, and the request of my passports back did not prompt my receiving the COA as I thought it would. I'm concerned now that they didn't check the passports and will request them back!

So if one lands at UK airport only with CoA, and EEA2 in proccess, one would be allowed to enter the UK? Are you certain of this?
I have just asked HO to send my passport and we are planning to go abroad. Boarding the plane should not be a problem as my previous visa is still valid. Thanks

the thing is, once we have landed I do not want to show them my visa. I only want to show them my CoA. My visa is in my old passport.
Reason for this is that last time I traveled on my own they put me in 20 min detention for such a stupid reason. They asked me why is my visa more than almost 3 years when it should have been around 2.5 yrs, why did i pass more exams then predicted for a year, etc etc. they even told me that if i keep up with passing my exams with that success i should inform the UKBA and leave within 60 days after passing my last exam. THIS is why i dont even want to queue in non-EU line this time.

Hey Nidau, here's a paste of my timeline from when I got my passports back, good luck!!

Great news, I got my passports today!! Here's my timeline:

Application Received by HO January 14
Passports requested January 28
Passports requested #2 February 4 (this time saying that if I didn't receive my passports by the end of the week, I would contact my MP, the Italian embassy, and a solicitor and immigration judge who happens to be one of my law professors)
Passports received February 7!

I sent in a form attached to an email to the Liverpool address.

The UKBA specifically (both in the automated email and on their website) state that requesting your passport back will not speed up the process of your application:

Here you go Nidau: LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Though speaking by principle, you should try harder to do your own research and work; this email address is all over the thread AND on the UKBA website!

Most often the applications (EEA1+EEA3) and requests made by the EEA national are considered more promptly than non-EEA's one. But anyhow until you actually receive the parcel nothing can be predicted. But make an effort to share your experience too.

No. But if at the time of decision caseworker has no passport then you will be issued EEA2 RC on A4 size page.

New returns of document address

Post by totally » Mon Apr 08, 2013 6:42 pm

Hi guys,

I've been trying to find the return of document form on the UKBA to LiverpoolEuro.PassportReturns@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk with no sucess. The only address I've found on the website is RODRequests@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

(Link here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... documents/ )

I'm just wondering if they are changing their services after 6th April or should I keep sending an email to the other email address? I want to make sure my passport is returned to me in time as I've already book my travel in 4 weeks. Thanks guys.

Oh no, I was debating sending the application away last week but there is never good time for me to leave my passport for too long as I need to get visa and travel for work :( How did you ask them to send your documents back? I hope the UKBA being scrapped doesn't delay our application longer :(

I did send the form to both email addresses, the liverpool one says hopefully 10 days, and the other says 20 working days! :(
