SOC code in employer letter

Dear Experts,
For Tier2 (ICT) to ILR, there is a section in form which asks to provide the employer letter confirming,
1) That you still required for the employement in question
2) the nearest applicable SOC code which best describes your employement
3) Your salary
4 Confirmation that salary is above the appropriate rate for the job as stated in codes of practice for T2 sponsors.

My question is how important it is for employer to give the SOC code in letter? As many of you would know that certain employers have standard formatted letter which would cover 1), 3) & 4) but doesnt talk anything about SOC code. Advise please?

Your job title must match closer to a SOC Code from the UKBA SOC Code list.You must be paid above the salary mentioned on the SOC Code. Please look at Sticky's Template for an Employer's letter.

Thanks Kevin24. If Job title matches and salary condition satisfy but employer had not mentioned SOC code in letter would that Suffice?

No! SOC Code really matter. And you should be paid above the salary mentioned in your SOC code. Because your job has to fall under a SOC code or the nearest match.

Even though you are on an OLD Work Permit,now you are under Tier 2( General). So your salary has to be revised to match with the UKBA SOC Code List. Find a Code which nearly/exactly matches you job and the apprpriate salary for that SOC Code has to be paid for you.
