Maintenance Fund - Unauthorised Debit

Post by newmoon » Thu Mar 21, 2013 11:35 am

Hi All,

Need advice on the below.

Today there was an unauthorised debit by my Credit card company in my account which made my maintenance fund balance to go below the threshold of £900 for Tier 1 Extension.

Called the CC company and asked them to send a letter stating the unauthorised debit.

I have requested my bank to reverse the DD and credit my account on the same day. Because of the entry my balance went below the £900 and came back to above £900 within the same day. (so for couple of hours it went below the £900)

My questioin is will UKBA look at the closing day balance or transactional balance for maintenance fund.

Thanks

Newmooon

It shouldn't be problem but keep the letter from bank as a backup

as long as closing balance in the same day didn't go below 900. you are fine.

hours never count in statement, its always end of the day. But because a very well trained staff deals our applications, so you should have a letter with you
lets get together for migrants' rights

Dear Newmoon,

The UKBA will look the balance at any point of time instead of End of the Day balance amount in account.

If it fall below threshold amount at any point of time and credited by EOD at the same day than its a big problem. Better ways you take a letter from bank and Mention in covering letter about it.

Best of Luck

You could include another bank statement from a different account with some funds to get you over the maintenance threshold if you have one.

This will clear up any ambiguity and make you more relaxed when you make the application.

Good luck

Thanks guys for all your replies

I am looking for a reference.

Can someone please give me a link for the reference relates to maintenance fund that it should not go below £900 at any point in one single day. i.e that UKBA will look at transactional balance not closing day balance

I checked UKBA guidance but its not clear

Thanks

That is correct but what is the advantage of taking the risk? Why not play safe?
