OCI stamping on Passport by someone else then main applicant

Post by ric1982 » Wed Apr 03, 2013 10:38 am

Hi,

The status of my OCI application online is stating that the OCI has now arrived in UK (birmingham). which means that I need to go to the HC to get my passport stamp and collect the OCI card.
My question is can I send my father in law to do this? Perhaps with a letter of authority?

Thanks,
ric

I have no personal experience of this case.

However if your FIL was to carry your signed LOA to HCI/CGI and also proof to establish close family relative link then I see no issues.

In recent posts I have seen someone noting agents in the oci queue or like that.

Perhaps an explanation of not being able to come in person along with LOA might help!

Good luck.

Just send an authority letter and some proof of his own id if required, should have no problem
