OCI postal order vs DD - Birmingham

Frustrating..

Today, I went to bank to take Demand Draft for OCI fee.
Here starts the problem, Bank doesn't know what DD is.. Yes, I should have ask for Bank Draft? but, Birmingham site clearly mentioned application by post should send only Postal Order/Demand Draft.

Hmm.. Bank Draft and DD both are same? I had a quick browse in mobile before I pay for Bank Draft.. But, many articles does say, both are not same.

Now, I am going to Post office for postal order...
Do you have any thoughts on this?

Demand draft is India banking term which HCI/CGI has used, although you get drafts through UK banks, its costs may be at par to some extent with PO.

PO is the most used route.

Another query (related) on timelines :
I have posted my application on 24th March and waiting for acknowledgement.
Just seen few posts in forum, surprisingly, it sounds like I might have saved nearly/between 3 to 6weeks of time if submitted 'in person' rather sending by post?

Can you please comment on this?

As you have already gone for postal application, so just wait and enjoy. Everything will happen in time.

I have always gone for postal applications for everything to do with CGI as its cost effective in my case. Postal v/s in person has its benefits on their own and each individual's priorities.

I applied on 27 March, London, Postal, if you see some of the posts people who applied on 28 March got acknowledgement..........
