ILR or Citizenship after Tier 1

Post by Anndeep » Thu Jun 06, 2013 9:54 am

Can anyone tell me whether it is essential to first apply for ILR or I can directly apply for citizenship when my Tier 1 (General) is completed.

You can't apply for Citizenship directly. You have to apply for ILR first and once you have had ILR for 12 months (unless spouse of BC), you can then apply for Citizenship.

This would help: Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting
