Eligibility criteria:Sec 3(1) for 17 year old daughter born abroad, mother British by naturalisation (December 2012)

Method of application:NCS Lewisham 26/03/2012
Date of receipt by UKBA: 27/03/13 (DX Courier - Tracked)
Date of debit of fees: 04/04/2013
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 06/04/2013 (letter dated 05/04/2013)

Date of 'other' letters received : 1st May 2013 dated 27th April requesting clarification on discrepancy in childs' name on application versus passport and birth certificate and requesting documentary evidence to confirm the name on application has no second/middle name. UKBA need urgent response from me in order to print childs' certificate with the correct details.

Date of response to 'other' letter : 2nd May replied by email and posted letter with copy of their letter directly to caseworker confirming name is correct per the foreign passport and birth certificate and that it was a silly omission of the second/middle name on the application form and happy to proceed with printing of certificate per the details in the passport.

Date of receipt of approval: 30th May 2013 although I knew the application had been approved per the letter received asking for confirmation of name to print certificate.
Date of receipt of registration certificate: 30th May 2013

I am so excited and happy that my journey with UKBA is now complete. 5 years of a lot of stress and worry and cost is over. Only passports to do but that is a piece of cake compared to all the other visa issues.

Thank you to the forum for all your assistance and help with my queries and journey.

It was rather quick, took 23 days to get the certificate. One thing I don't get, everyone is talking about receipt of approval and receipt of certificate, I received the certificates today with a cover letters (in the same envelope) that seem to be the approval letter.
Should I be expecting some sort of special approval letter?
Goodluck.

The only difference is that NCS would copy your docs and return original whist you'll need to send original to UKBA if you're sending yourself.
Rest is the same

babe_khyber, can you explain more about your 2 children who got refused? I am also planning applying for my children's BC through sec 1.3 and 3.1.
My question is
1. Did your two children get ILR before the BC application?
2. How old are they?
3. How long did they stay in the UK?

It would be much appreciated if you tell me more about this.
Your two children's case is disappointing. Sorry to hear that
My both child are came with me in 2006 and yes they were granted ILR before BC the first one is 11year old and the second one is 8year old. The home office is very crazy because they west the time of refugees like me in 2006 I claimed asylum but they didn`t replied until Sep 2007 then I applied set protection route ILR in August 2012 and got ILR on 21th Feb 2013 in this time they also affect my Citizenship. From October 2013 all category will need to show both requirement example Life in the uk test and ESOL level B1 any way my friendly advice to you don`t take the risk discretion sec 3.1
Good luck

babe_khyber, thanks a lot for your reply and advice!!

I am still considering whether I make an application for my son born abroad using sec. 3.1. Feel that it is very risky.

Form MN1 or Form T

Post by Chemu » Fri Jun 07, 2013 6:48 pm

I got my ILR in September 2012. I have two kids both born in the UK before I got my ILR. One 11 years old and two years old. I have not much evidence to prove form T especially before nursery. So I am thinking I will go with form MN1. Both do not have a visa and do not have a passports. The visa for my 11 years old expired in Nov 2011 and I never renewed due to the fact that I did not qualify as a student at the time.

Please advise. Is there chance for form MN1?

Thanks

You don`t need to apply on form T because you have already ILR that is why just you need to field MN1 SEC 1.3 and submitted with full birth certificate not the short one and your ILR Status, BRP Copy should be fine don`t worry I got my son one after my ILR granted.
