tier 1 general dependent for baby

Post by jazz81 » Thu Jun 20, 2013 4:53 pm

Hi All
I am on tier 1 general visa and my wife is my dependent. We just had a baby 2 days back in UK. I and my wife will be applying for ILR in April 2014. I have a few questions related to my baby's tier 1 general dependent visa and will appreciate if some one can answer them :

1. I was told that the baby require passport (Indian) or tier 1 dependent visa only if he re-enters UK i.e after returning from holiday or family visit.
I dont have any plans to travel outside UK until our ILR. If I never travels out of UK then baby does not need visa or passport. Am i right in this?

2. When we apply ILR next year, then do I have to apply ILR for my baby as well or do I need to apply for British passport?

Thanks for help :)

Quite widely discussed topic, Please check the following links:

Can I directly apply for British passport for my son?
PBS dependent Child- Born here
ILR due and uk born child
There are many other success stories on this forum with processed ILR applications as well :)

Hope this helps,
Regards
