Italian citizenship

Hi

Im Danish & my girlfriend is Italian and we are residing outside Italy (Holland). We intend to get married soon. I wish to know if the rule still applies whereby if I live with my Italian wife in Italy for 6 months I can apply for Italian citizenship?

Can I apply under a de-facto relationship instead?
