I would like to apply directly for British citizenship without going through NCS. I have on 2 Year WP + 3 Year Tier -1 and 1 year ILR route.

Does any one know that how long it takes to get documents (passport, visa etc) retrun from UKBA?

Thanks
1. You are eligible to apply now once you meet all the requirements as stated in the form. (a) Like number of days spent outside UK. (b) Life In UK Test. (c) There's no conviction or unspent conviction.
2. For those I've given a guide to last year and the one I did for myself, my wife and children this year it's exactly 3 weeks.

@ritswaney:

That is a remarkably quick turn around time for you mate. Congratulations.

I have gone through the July timeline and those who applied in the first week of July have got Ceremony date after your Ceremony. Well done.

@ Emrah - my NCS person said that the acknowledgment letter could take 3-4 weeks and not to worry if it never shows up! They said they've known of plenty of cases where it just get lost and never arrives but then the Approval letter arrives! Appreciate it is annoying not having it though. Maybe give it another week and then consider emailing the HO with a chaser or request to re-send.

UPDATE...sorry not just editing my original post...its just so unbelievable felt it deserves a new post!

Date of approval:30/08/13 (Dated 24/08/13)

Approval letter says to contact local authority within 21 days (allow 2 working days for docs to be received).
All in all, 10 days to make a decision. I hope this gives everyone here still waiting a boost! All good things come to those who wait:)

Congrats mcloud8! Found the info about the approval letter useful too!

I received my acknowledgment letter yesterday but I noticed that my application is being considered as a AN6(2) +

I did mention that my wife is a British Citizen but made the app as my own right since I have had ILR for number of years.

Should I be worried about this? Should I email the HO to enquire about this matter?

Your responses will be appreciated
