Applied for sponsorship license

Post by crippled » Tue Sep 17, 2013 5:54 am

Hey,

My company has applied for sponsorship license to hire me and my colleague. How will it take from here on to getting a visa?

We are from Singapore.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

anyone? even indicative timelines for getting a sponsorship license offlate would do. I've read that it takes 4-10 weeks, but most people say it takes 6 months, is that true? any idea of what the average is like?

Many thanks!

I'm pretty sure UKBA's web site suggests it may take up to 3 months.

Anyway, it seems that it could take from 2 to 10 weeks in general..

In my case it was 8 weeks, considering the fact that we had to send some additional documents after UKBA's request.

CoS is instant, you get it online right after filling up the form and making the payment.

My company applied for the license on the 14th of July and got it on 20th August.

This is the timeline my wife's company went through to get a response :)

Applied for license online: July 8th 2013
Response received: 9th July 2013
Fees taken : I don't surely know but think it's 9th July itself
Received letter about a pre-licensing visit: 2nd September 2013
Visit was done on : 09th September 2013
Response : 17th September 2013, awarded Tier 2 General 'A' Rating

All the best :)

Ours was ridiculously quick, so quick that we are all in shock! We did the online application on Friday 18 October and sent in the documents the same day as a guaranteed delivery. Today (Wednesday 23 October) we showed up on the sponsor list and got an email confirming our application was successful and that we are now a Tier 2 sponsor with our log-in details.

We could of just been extremely lucky in our case, but that was our timeline. We submitted 7 documents that they asked for and then our company solicitor told us to submit proof that our company undergoes several audits a year (letters, certificates, registration numbers with website print outs), even though those aren't asked for or required but it seemed to work.

Most people I have spoken to hear back within 4 weeks, so it shouldn't be an issue. But if it is dragging out, the company can contact them and ask them to expedite the application.

All the best.

an unrestricted CoS would be instant - not a restricted one which seems to be what most people need. A restricted CoS is issued on the 11th of each month with the deadline being the 5th of each month. Additionally, if a new level 1 user login is needed, it could take 3-4 weeks for it to arrive. This was the sole reason why I could not come back to the UK this month (a huge let-down for me!) in that the login details were delayed in arriving and so my company could not apply for a CoS in time for me.
