Biometric residence permit error and ILR application

Post by amit0277 » Tue Sep 17, 2013 9:13 pm

Hi,

I am soon going to make an application of ILR. I noticed that the "place of birth" is misspelled on the Biometric card issued to me on Tier 1 renewal.

The spelling mistake is such that I over looked it earlier. However now when I started filling the ILR form I notice it and I am worried about what can be the impact of this on my application. I would request experienced member to give their views on this matter.

Also I want to ask another question. During ILR application process, do we have to go through the biometric process again?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Amit

What must I do when I receive my
biometric residence permit?
You must check your permit carefully when
you receive it, to make sure that all the
details on it are correct. If you find a
mistake, you must email
BRPerror@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk within 10
working days of receiving the permit -
otherwise you may be charged for a
replacement and will have to apply again.

You must provide us with as many of the
following details as possible:
 full name;
 date of birth;
 nationality;
 passport number;
 contact telephone number;
 BRP reference number
 case reference number; and
 exactly what is wrong with the BRP.
We advise you to make a photocopy of the
front and back of your permit, in case it is
lost or stolen. If you want to make another
application in the future, you will have to
send your permit to the Home Office, so you
may want to retain a copy for your records.

Thank you sheraz7 for responding back to my query.

I am well beyond the 10 day period and will end up paying for the replacement.

Sorry I will trouble you with another question. During ILR application process, do we have to go through the biometric process again?
