South African Finn to emmigrate

I need some help here. I have a Finnish passport but my wife is South African and we want to move to Ireland. Our kids and relatives all live in the UK and Finland and we would like to be closer to them. I have read all posts here and see the problem with EU-1 etc.
I am a businessman and would like to buy a business in Ireland.

What I mean by "help" is , what was the outcome of the non EU spouse problem and does this affect me as a business owner?

where do you reside currently ?

EU-1 is the case the business and anything wont effect it at all.

The business will be considered if you apply business visa.

Have u lived un EU in the past ?

Well, if you see my location is South Africa. I was 5 years old when we moved from Finland to South Africa and am now 50 years old. I have never given up my Finnish citizenship. And no, I have never lived anywhere else.

You might find the visa/citizenship situation easier if you moved to the United Kingdom instead of Ireland.

Is Northern Ireland an option?

Avoid Ireland if at all possible! Its just not worth the stress in the end.

If you have never lived in EU *with your wife* then it will be a problem.
Based on the previous South African/anycitizenship cases here, it would come back as refused. After much longer than the legal 6 months wait.

Go to UK. It will be so much better. Or Finland - since you are Finnish, they should grant her the residency based on you.

Finland is too cold and their taxes are too high. Vat at 22% and is payable in advance for business owners.
England, I believe is colder than Ireland as is northern Ireland.
Will wait out this year to see if laws change.

The average temperature in Uk is high about 3 degrees than ireland

also in Ireland the wind is crazy !

Well how about Netherlands then? Do you speak Dutch? It should be less cold than in Finland...
And South of UK is not any colder than the South of Ireland.

The VAT is 21% here.

And as joesoap101 alread said it is not one of the easiest ways to come into Ireland most of the Irish love everybody - except non-irish.

I know what I am talking about as an EU citizen.

I also recommend come into Finland, because you where born there
and than you can move to Ireland, if you still want.

By the way - The weather here in Ireland can be as bad as everywhere

In my opinion.. the best bet is to wait and see what the court judgement says about the EU1 thing before making a decision. I am also from South Africa and it is so much better living here. I even prefer it here over England.

As you well know, Africa is not for Europeans. That is why I want a better life for my children. I have just heard on the radio that there are 5 murders a day in the Cape Flats alone never mind the rest of Cape Town.
Someone on the forum says the wind in IRE is strong. In Cape Town the trees grow at an angle of 45 degrees becouse of the strong SE wind.

It doesnt' have a patch on SA. The weather is mild here.. I know they all say it's freezing.. and the rain is too much. Well I don't think so at all. The dry heat in Gauteng is too much. I heard about the kids murdering another kid in Cape Town this week. Very sad

Schooling here is also stunning! My kids have never been so happy in school. Truly hope you get sorted out..... it really is a tough one to get in here, EU or not. We were rejected even having lived in the UK before.
