Advice on Child BC

Post by juz » Mon Oct 07, 2013 2:57 pm

Hello,

This forum really helped me, when applying for my ILR.

I have already got my ILR in May 2013 for myself / wife and 2 kids.
Both Kids are born in the UK.

Can you please let me know what is the next process of getting my kids BC. I was been told, as soon as one parent has ILR, they can apply for British passport and be British citizen.

If you can guide me to the correct process / what forms I need etc that would be useful.

Am I right to say, that they do not have to wait for 1 year like myself to apply for BC?

Thanks and look forward for your help and response.

You need to register your kids as British Citizen before applying for their passport. As they are born in UK and you hold ILR now so you can apply for BC registration for them using MN1 form.

Thanks for your response.

Would I need to fill in 2 MN1 forms for my 2 kids?

Does this mean, once I apply for BC, then taking that approval I will need to apply for British passport?

Yes. You need to fill separate form for each kid. On approval you will receive BC registration certificate and then only you can apply for their passports.

hello,

Can i just ask, how do I fill in the Payment slip?
I want to apply for my 2 daugthers.

Do I just use one payment slip as found on the fee guide and have one amount of £1178 or sent 2 payment slips, one for £673 and another of £505.

Your help / advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

One payment slip with the total amount is better.

Thanks Jambo.

Does that mean, in the name field, I write names of my 2 girls and same goes for DOB and Town of Birth?

Also, what will be the HO Ref:?

Both of them have ILR, as my company had applied for ILR for them, but both born in UK. Can I use the ILR ref as HO Ref?

Write both names + DOB. You can leave the HO Ref empty.
