child citizenship

Post by 2321 » Sun Oct 20, 2013 4:38 pm

Hello
My friend recently naturalised as British citizen.
His child was born abroad and holds ILR.
Now is the child entitled for registration r direct passport?

Thanks

What is the immigration status of both parents now and at the time of the child's birth?

Thanks D4109125 for the response.

Now both parents are British and were on leave to remain in UK on child's birth.

Assuming the child is in the UK. The child can register under section 1(3), by discretion, on form MN1 and should be successful. Once successful, the child can apply for a British Passport.
