ILR - PBS - Absences Questions

Post by rajee120 » Sun Oct 20, 2013 9:46 pm

Hello All,

I have a question regarding UK absence. Can anyone please give me some clarification on this?

I and my wife traveled to Switzerland in May 2012 from May 4th to May 7th, 2012. We traveled in to Switzerland through Geneva airport and we didn't get any entry stamp in my passport. They just checked the visa page in our passports and returned the passports to us.

I returned to UK on May 7th, 2012 through Zurich and in Zurich airport they gave an Exit stamp on our passports.

Will there be any problem because of this?

I do have supporting evidence for my Switzerland travel i.e., flight e-tickets, hotel booking copy, travel insurance copies, letter from my employer for applying visa etc...

Regards,
Rajesh

No need to worry. Just mention actula number of days in list of absences. Caseworker won't ask any question. They have all information about you in their system.

I am on Tier 2 General Visa and prior to that I was in Tier 2 ICT category. I switched employer and moved on to Tier 2 General visa. I have less than 180 days of UK absences in all 5 years. Do I need to get a letter from all employers regarding UK absenses? I can get the letter from my current employer regarding UK absenses but will not be able to get letter from old employer? Will this be a problem?

Rajesh

If you can get a letter then take one. However, I've not heard of a case yet where a letter was requested when absences <180 days per 12 month period.

Even if it is work related travel? I have travelled out of country twice related to work but my total absent is less than 100 days in 5 years.

In Set(O) form it says:

Evidence of all work-related absences (including paid annual leave) is required from those applying
under Tier 1 (General);Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer);Tier 2 (General); Tier 2 (Minister of religion);
Tier 2 (Sportsperson); Tier 5 International Agreement, and permitted employment categories - except
Highly Skilled Migrants.

UK Absences

Post by rajee120 » Mon Nov 11, 2013 2:56 pm

Hello All,

Can anyone please answer this query?

I am in Tier 2 General visa and I was on Tier 2 ICT before I switched to Tier 2 General.

I have less than 180 days of UK absences in all 5 years and I have only been out of country for non-work related purposes i.e., visiting family or tourism purposes.

What category should I use while filling UK absenses spread sheet? Should I use 'paid leave' or just say 'holiday'? I am a bit confused whether to produce a employer letter for non-work related absences.

Set(O) form says:

Evidence of all work-related absences (including paid annual leave) is required from those applying
under Tier 1 (General);Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer);Tier 2 (General); Tier 2 (Minister of religion);
Tier 2 (Sportsperson); Tier 5 International Agreement, and permitted employment categories - except

seems bureaucratic to engage employer to certify your absences for all days you went out on holiday.
if you can get the letter, thats fine, if you cant, whatever category you put (holiday/work-related annual leave) it doesnt matter. I personally think this will never be an issue as long as your days are less than 180.
But need others to confirm.......

Hello
I am also in a similar situation. I'll complete 5 years in Jan, 2015 under Tier 2 (General). I found a new sponsor after completing 3.5 years in my previous company.
I can arrange absences letter from my current company which is actually just 1 leave instance where in I went to India. Arranging letter from previous employer will be tricky but most of my abroad trips were with the previous employer.
Any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks
Sachin
