I applied through NC S on 5th October but it was only received on 8th
Unless some one sent using post on 4th or 5th theirs wouldn't have been received by UKBA on 7th

Right, although this wasn't my question, I asked about fees, I will answer you.

ncs got application on 4th and royal mail had it 4th evening then tracking status shown pending delivery Monday the 7th then Monday morning it was delivered.

Now, if anyone whom application received by HO (through NCS or self ) please let us know if your payment is taken ( especially yestrday ho was processing payments for applications received on Friday 4th )
Thanks

Guys, i'm finally joining you in the "Long Wait" for the magic paper.A few things to add i found interesting at the Wandsworth NCS. Had the luck to be assessed by a very helpful lady that gave me some insights of the process. She said also that at the moment UKBA is so busy, payment fees can take up to 2 weeks, but she did mention that assessment of applications can vary , from 3-4 weeks to a few months. She said that NCS service has a pretty good reliability service history(could be she was advertising their jobs?don't know...)and the fact that majority of applications made with NCS are dealt with quicker has a pretty simple logic behind it:i went there, as anyone would do with an enormous amount of paperwork, to my surprise to see that she only photocopied a few documents.Anyone else aplying alone would have sent too many documents, causing delay in UKBA checking every single one of them.
By the way, the documents she needed were: passport, driving licence(used at life in the UK test, she said they need that)all my 6 years worth of payslips, even though i had p60, she went for the payslips.letters from employers, a contract i needed to cover a few month in those 6 years, my registration certificate(for romanians and bulgarians only). Then to my ultimate surprise, she says she doesn't need any proof of address, bank statements, nothing of that kind.Having read around here on the forum, i go on and dare to insist that she takes at least one form of proof of address for my last 5 years(had council tax, TV licence, water bills). She goes next door to check with a colleague of her(supervisor maybe?)then, they both come back saying to me that you don't need those, all you need is proof of exercising treaty rights.I was in shock at that point. All the work to get all bills, put them in order, and to be told you don't need them?still not sure if they were right or wrong...i guess one way to find out:get the approval or letter from UKBA asking for some more documents
With every set of documents she was photocopying, she had a list in front of her, i could clearly see Home Office's letters on it and a list of documents to tick, also a couple of references to different applications and what to ask for in such cases.
If you ask me now, i will say those 45 pounds are well worth for the service you get.Otherwise, i would have sent to UKBA a very thick folder of paperwork, just to waste their time in checking documents they wouldn't need anyway...
Good luck to all of you guys ,hope that October applications will be on UKBA's desks soon...

1- 5&6 were Saturday and Sunday and HO does NOT receive applications on on those days as per their website. Be sure of of that. Applications given to ncs on Friday 4th were passed to royal mail same day which kept them in hold for delivery Monday 7th morning.
2- applications received on 4th, fees taken Thursday 17th and this where it all stopped.

I can confirm that some (not all ) applications that were received at HO on 4/10/13 are being processed for payment today.

So guys, just chill out. There is about 3 weeks delay in processing. Just add extra 3 weeks to all the timelines in your heads. :)

Also, there is expected to be some extra rush in this last week before 28th. So people who submitted mid october or going to submit this week may face upto 4 weeks extra processing times.
