Post by pennylessinindia » Sat Oct 19, 2013 3:25 pm

just wondered if anyone has applied recently and what are the timelines.

Want to visit a friend in Ireland and travel together.

If you submit in person can you collect in person too?

They say they need proof of travel is that really tickets?

any recent experience would be helpful

My relatives visited me in Ireland, recently, they have submitted the passport + application in person and collected the passport+visa in person.

Yes, as a proof you have to submit ur flights (itinerary)

I think the Irish embassy in London took 3 weeks to issue visa. Hope that helps.

3 weeks is a long time I thought they should treat them as priority!

Yes you can apply in person ..AND IT TAKES 8 WORKING DAYS.
Proof of travel is not necessary...All you need is an invite letter plus proof of residence of family/friend resident in Ireland

A family member application will still be considered expeditious even if it were a day faster than the normal applications, if an ordinary visitors would take 15days to process, a family member 14 days application will be considered expeditious.
