Stats of EU members in Ireland with non EEA spouse.

Post by BigAppleWoodenShoe » Sat Jun 16, 2007 6:28 pm

We all agree that what is happening here in Ireland with EU workers trying to get a residence card for their Non-EEA spouse is a little bit ridiculous.

In order to report these incidents to the media, or my boss for that matter, I would like to get as much information on different cases as possible.

I understand that there are a lot of people with similar issues but I would like to narrow it down to people, being EU members working and residing in Ireland who would like to have their non-EEA spouse join them to report there case here, for other, similar cases (refugees, non-EU workers, not-family reunification, etc..) you could start a similar topic.

I'd suggest the following layout.
  • EU-Country of worker:
  • Non-EEA country of spouse:
  • Date of application for residence card for spouse:
  • Approved, Denied, or Pending (if approved, supply date of approval):
So, I'll start:
  • EU-Country of worker: The Netherlands
  • Non-EEA country of spouse: USA
  • Date of application for residence card for spouse: January 18th 2007
  • Approved, Denied, or Pending (if approved/denied, supply date): Pending...
Dutch husband, American wife, applied for a residence card, after 7 months got a Stamp 4 visa for two years. :)

# EU-Country of worker: Germany
# Non-EEA country of spouse: Thailand
# Date of application for residence card for spouse: 01. August 2006
# Approved, Denied, or Pending (if approved/denied, supply date): Denied April 2007

BTW. another point of Interest might be how long the EU spouse resided in Ireland before getting married. In my case 6 years.

Married in Ireland in Feb 2004. Very disappointed and leaving the country soon.
I am being transferred by my employer to the UK, while my wife is returning to Brazil and will apply for the EEA Family permit. As she has no valid stamp in her passport, she cannot apply for a visa in the UK from Dublin.
