Convention Travel Documents application time experience

hi friends,

I received my travel document today

It's come sign for letter with my biometric resince permit.

So, my time line:

02/04/2013 - my wife and son apllied for TD
05/04/2013 - confirmation from HO
22/04/2013 - me applied for TD
25/04/2013 - confirmation from HO
27/09/2013 - my wife and son received TD
07/11/2013 - I received letter from HO WITH return photos without signature proff person
09/11/2013 - My solicitor signed photo and I sent photos back to HO
16/11/2013 - I received TD

So, 19/11/2013 I go to Malta, holidays soon

called them again today
and they said they did start to jump onto may applications
but due to some reason jumped back again on april cases
they didnt tell me the reason as to why
but i am going mental here with waiting!
i really wanted to travel by the en dof december but looks like its not going to happen
any any sort of new news people, please share it!

Called Home Office on Friday the answer was - your application has not been completed yet, but procesing now. Called on Monday same answer. Called them 10 min ago - it has not been considered yet!!!!!!
I dont think they know what they talking about!

hi guys i received my travel document today, timeline applied 22april 2013 about 7 months waiting, thank you everyone for sharing thats what kept me going, i wish all those who are still waiting good luck. Now im going on a long deserved holiday, pnce again thank you all and all the best

Hi everyone,

So I am a first year student currently partially enrolled at university still waiting for my student finance to be fully enrolled on my physics Bsc course.

Just one thing in my way at the minute; you guessed it; the UKBA as usual . Student finance refuse to process my application unless they receive an original immigration status document and Id; passport, TD, etc.
My university will begin cutting strings for those who haven't paid their tuitions as of 28th of November 2013.

Below is my CTD processing status:

Date application received by ukba (sign for delivery); 03/06/2013
Date funds deducted from account; 05/06/2013
acknowledgment later dated; 05/06/2013
Date request for prioritization due to student finance was faxed; 29/08/2013
respond letter from Ukba was dated which they sent a certified copy of my immigration letter :30/08/2013
date I requested prioritization again as student finance declined copy; 18/10/2013
Date responded by ukba with refusal; 20/10/2013
got my solicitor to write them letter received by them (recorded delivery); 06/11/2013
biometric card enrolment letter recived today from ukba dated; 17/11/2013
Enroled at post office today; 20/11/2013
CDT; Still freeeeking waiting;

so much for my hard work getting my A levels and getting into uni despite my struggles, don’t even care about travelling just want improve my qualification so I don’t have to be a cleaner all my life.

OMG am in the same boat as you, i applied for student finance and sent in my original status letter but they refused it sayin they want an BRP or TD which i had to apply for

Hello, yesterday I have received reply from local MP which is I would like to share with you.

The Home Office are currently processing TD applications that were made in April so it is likely to be a few more weeks before your children’s applications are considered.



The Home Office will only expedite applications in the most exceptional, compassionate and compelling circumstances where there is an urgent need to travel and where there are documents to support any such claim.

Finally prepare myself to Spain for holiday.

I applied for my TD in April 23
I got a letter 14th of November to do my biometric which I did on the 15th of November.
But I still haven't recived not yet am abit worry its exactly 7months now.

Finally received CTD yesterday. Applied 22.04.2013.

Do you mean 22.05.2013? coz i thought they were processing May now and i applied on 22.05.2013 too and am still waiting.

still processing april applications
this is insanely annoying
and HO are insane people, that dont care about us in any way whatsoever
april applications started processing in september 2013. and its now freakin december time...may applications may being looked into...who knows...

THEIRS HOPE

Hi guys,
I'm seeking advise for a mate who has just been granted leave to remain as refugee. He received his BRP today. My questions are:

1. Can he travel to EU member countries with the BRP, without a national passport?

2. How does he go about applying for a CTD? he called a number supplied in the letter sent to him by the HO confirming his status, but couldn't get through to anyone, and had no success in making any sense of what next to do.

3. What documents doe he have to submit to make the application?
