My wife is a British national and we are considering moving to the Netherlands to take advantage of the surrinder singh route.
I have a question. I (Pakistani National) would obviously need to get a registration certificate if we have to stay in the Netherlands for longer than 3 months.
Does that mean that my wife would also need to get a registration certificate first or can I apply without her getting it first?
The reason for the confusion is because on the site it says the following:
By lawful residence do they mean that she has to have a residence card?You are the spouse, partner or registered partner of an EU citizen.
You must meet the following conditions:
- You are the spouse, partner or registered partner of an EU citizen.
You are not a risk to public order or national security
You have a valid travel document (for example a passport)
Your spouse, partner or registered partner must meet the following conditions:
- He has an EU/EEA or Swiss nationality
He has lawful residence in the Netherlands
